LYRICS
Is it a friend, is it a lie
You told yourself just to get by
Inching towards an end
Letters in rows, air in a phone
Weaving a story nobody knows
And even you won’t read

Is it even a thing
(Living behind your eyes)
that you’ve been wondering
(Different paths through your mind)
How you keep it inside
(Charting alternate lives)
And sit through the ride
(That you never will find)
Every minute, though

You hold out
Waiting for something to break
You’re holding out waiting for somebody’s sake
But you don’t know who

If you wanted to get around
Taking the easy route
You did it up
Now that you’ve headed out
I wonder who you know

All of the joys, all the mistakes
A family exalts, you couldn’t even fake
Who knows which is worse

Was it even a thing
(Living behind your eyes)
That you were wondering
(All those paths ‘cross your mind)
How you kept it inside
(Charting alternate lives)
And sat through the ride
(That you never could find)
Who were you thinking of

It’s not about us
But what about us
It’s not about you, is it
But isn’t it…

In the end it was evident
Who you were thinking of
But if you went
Out of the arms of love
Then I wonder who you know

It was just hypothetical
Looking from up above
Now that you know
These aren’t the ones you love
I wonder who you know

‘I didn’t cause the riots’: QAnon congresswoman refuses to take responsibility for inciting insurrection

Liar. You conspired with Biggs, Gosar, Brooks, Boobert and Ali Alexander to trigger the coup!

QAnon Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is continuing to spread deranged conspiracy theories about the January 6th insurrection by supporters of Donald Trump seeking to overturn the 2020 election.

Just waiting for McCarthy to put her on Nancy’s Select Committee to investigate the coup!

The Weight is one of the songs most requested by MrBWS’s fans.

He says to tell you he also has many questions.

And for many years he thought the line was “I’ll fix you right” instead of “I’ll fix your rack”. And he says he still doesn’t know wtf the line is supposed to be/mean.

I love the token slice of bread on top so you can pretend you are eating a sandwich and not just a giant pile of meat.

The Stage deli in NY had an open faced corned beef reuben that was literally just a couple pounds of meat, cheese and saurkraut with a slice of bread hidden somewhere underneath. It was fantastic, but I would respect them more if they just put it on the menu as something like “Pile of Reuben”

JUNCTION CITY, Ohio (WSYX) — A Perry County mom thinks she is in the biggest fight of her life.

The first-time mother said she was prevented from taking her healthy newborn daughter home from the hospital because workers confused her identity with someone who had taken meth and fentanyl.

Heather Smith, 32, delivered baby Sage on June 15 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville. The child was 7 pounds 9 ounces, and 21 inches long.

“The baby’s drug screen came back clean,” Smith said. “The core blood from the placenta came back clean. Wouldn’t she be having a lot of withdrawal symptoms? Wouldn’t she be sick? For me, to supposedly have these drugs in my system, please, please, prove that to me under my date of birth. Prove it to me under my name. My registration number.”

Smith still has her hospital identification bracelet that has incorrect information on it.

“I actually corrected them in the hospital. And I said this is not me. She took my ID and scanned it. Brought it back. She should have cut that bracelet off. At this point I think it’s more they don’t want to admit their mistake,” Smith said.

According to Smith, the hospital lab tests said she had meth and fentanyl in her system. Smith strongly denied ever using addictive drugs.

Lime should only be put in the coconut.

In the perennial battle of whether pineapple belongs on pizza, Armin of Atheist Republic had a solution on his podcast.

Pitch the pizza and just eat the pineapple.

Telltale (Owen Morgan) and his daughter have now safely escaped West Virginia, now with an apartment in New York City.

He and his daughter were being hidden by the atheist community in Nebraska after townspeople in West Virginia surrounded his house and demanded he send out his daughter, and if he didn’t they would burn them both in the house alive.

It took the police over an hour to get to his house in their tiny town.

The next day they were safely here.

That all started a couple months ago when his junior-high daughter recorded the health teacher proselytising directly in class. He complained to the school. The Christians in his town retaliated.

I may be in the minority but to me a good sandwich has a reasonable bread/meat ratio. I don’t like sandwiches that fall apart when I pick them up or are so unwieldy they basically can’t be picked up.

THIS.

I may be in the minority but to me a good sandwich has a reasonable bread/meat ratio. I don’t like sandwiches that fall apart when I pick them up or are so unwieldy they basically can’t be picked up.

Which is my issue with most restaurant burgers. Monstrously thick and they slide apart* when you attempt to pick them up, cut them in half, much less eat them.

Oh look, a series of solid “plates” with fluid/soft stuff between them (sauce, melted cheese, etc.) You put pressure on it and the plate attempt to slide past each other in order to relieve said pressure, and/or the fluids attempting to squirt out as well.

Pacifico and Corona taste fine without lime, but either with lime is ambrosia on a hot day.

We’re going to have similar weather, and the rain is most welcome after the incredibly hot and dry pre-summer we had. We had over an inch of rain today, and we could easily use 3-4 more.

Yes. They’re called Hyatt, Marriott, Hilton, Best Western, and Choice.

It would seem hosting polling stations in US-based hotels on behalf of a government under US sanctions (and an exchange of money for our capitalist overlords) over an election widely considered a sham, during Pride Month when being LGBT in Iran carries the death penalty, should be a crime.

I imagine the companies will give a non-pology. The corporate board members responsible for this of course will not be charged with the crime of violating US sanctions, and we’ll be lucky if a dime is paid in fines.

I recommend Nat Geo Wild’s programming this evening. Critter Fixers is on, a couple of veterinarians in South Georgia that work on all kinds of animals. After that, The Wizard of Paws is on. He makes prosthetic legs and feet for all kinds of animals, it’s a cool show.

These are some of the things that help my brain to realize not everyone is a selfish ass beret. I love the veterinarian shows on that channel, even if there aren’t always good outcomes.

Bad News For People Who Like To Use Socialism As A Scare Word (Wonkette)

Hopefully it will subside more, given that yet another poll has shown that free market capitalism is not looking so great to people these days, and socialism is looking better. The poll, conducted by Axios, shows that only 49 percent of Americans now have a positive view of capitalism, while 41 percent have a positive view of socialism. More notably, however, is the way socialism has become increasingly popular with Americans post-pandemic.

Particularly the way capitalists treated workers during the pandemic. Fuque your needs, I have a fifth yacht to buy.

The problem with the jokes from my favorite weekly podcast in a certain segment is that I forget them within a couple of hours. Here’s one from this week that I remember, but it wasn’t the funniest:

We have little choice, as there is no other grocery store within sixty miles.

after i got fully vaccinated, I just said screw it, I’m not worrying about this anymore. I will happily stand in line with other unmasked people and I don’t care if they are vaccinated or not.

agreed, though I will admit, I laughed my ass off when I tried to eat my corner deli’s pastrami reuben (they make their own pastrami; they make their own bread; it is made by a guy named reuben; very authentic) while driving and discovered, with a hand covered in saurkraut and ‘strami jizz that they hadn’t bothered to put any goddamned napkins in the bottom of the bag :-) Don’t ask me why I found that uproariously funny, but I guess I figured of all the things that could go wrong with my day, that was pretty minor.

Then some mushrooms and black olives.

That’s a good trick, using a store bought pizza and adding on to it with the good stuff. Kroger store brand pizzas are cheap and good, better with more cheese and other goodies.

I love white pizza with no meats added, those are hard to find around here right now, no one has them. And, sigh, I can’t eat anything like that til my tummy heals anyway. Damn it.
