You’ve told us a lot about him via photos. UM concert, playing guitar with a student, skiing, all different aspects of the man. You’ll honor him with whatever you choose.

Finding him in the classroom doing his stuff, that one is proving elusive. I actually hope the Vail Daily might have a few in their file photos.

President Joe Biden took aim at corporations Monday for charging prices he said were artificially high even though the rate of inflation has slowed and some shipping costs have fallen,” CNBC reports.

Said Biden: “Any corporation that has not brought their prices back down, even as inflation has come down, even as the supply chains have been rebuilt, it’s time to stop the price-gouging. Give the American consumer a break.”

Biden has delivered hundreds of thousands more manufacturing jobs- in crucial fields- than Trump ever did but because Trump went around lying that he’d achieved “a manufacturing miracle” & the trope is “Rs are better on the economy” the media is compelled to portray D successes as a kind of fuckup

I love this pre-emptive strike against Trump’s potential populist talking point.

My take is that Trump will undoubtedly promise populist price controls and rent controls in a last-ditch campaign effort to attract lower class and stressed middle class votes. Biden’s campaign is wise to claim this talking point as his own, with actual action in the real world soon to follow.

Those that follow and track middle/working class price stress from pickups to housing to general price inflation know exactly what is at issue here and how many worker class voters will vote dependent on how they can buy a $30k pickup and pay a $1500 rent. Right wingers vent at government interference, but they long for government help in affording the classic American lifestyle.

Damn it. Ugly crying again. First episode in a bit.

On his very first day on the job, Vogel began coaching the high school’s cross-country team. During his tenure, he also coached Devils wrestling and baseball.

“I have had a lot of good success stories with athletics,” he noted.

He recalled one girl on his cross-country team who was struggling in school and at the foster home where she was living. She never developed into a star runner, but her time on the team was an important life lesson.

“She wrote me a letter years later and said she learned how to persevere because she kept running and always finished,” Vogel said. “You don’t have to be in first place to be successful.”

My Dad was the best.

I have a friend, she’s quite liberal, hard worker but wants her big f*king pickup & when I suggest perhaps a smaller, less expensive brand,. it’s gotta be a Dodge. $78k. Sigh. More than even the mortgage she’s always complaining her ex left her with. Of course part of the reason she thinks she needs that truck is to cart the MLM scam cosmetic company crap to the events she does every weekend thinking it’ll make her rich but that’s a lost cause as well.

I just need B&W film, beer, rent, gas & a little food money. Or as the cartoon put it:

The Democratic-run county uses electronic counting machines and voting machines, which the GOP leaders oppose. Instead, they intend to hand count everything that comes in on election night.

How much could it cost to run an election and hand count thousands of ballots? This plan is, in part, the brainchild of one of Georgia’s fake Republican electors, one of the folks who submitted forged documents claiming that Trump had won the state of Georgia in 2020 — one of the people who is now under investigation by Fulton County prosecutors.”

According to an article about Jason Eaton, it appears that his only contact with law enforcement were traffic infractions. According to Vermont state court records, he apparently has six traffic and vehicle-related tickets since 1998, most recently in 2016. He purchased his gun legally. No red flags at all.

Terrifying. Perhaps further investigation will reveal more serious disturbances in his background. He was skeptical about Covid vaccines and recently let go from his job but nothing that would suggest that he would suddenly attack 3 innocent men with whom he had no prior relationship.

Trump’s evolving remarks [2016-2023] on Russian election interference

President Trump this week acknowledged for the first time that Russian forces tried to aid his path to victory in 2016.
………..
In the example on Thursday, Trump wrote on Twitter that Russia “has disappeared [as an issue] because I had nothing to do with Russia helping me to get elected.”

He then almost immediately told reporters outside the White House that “Russia did not get me elected,” contradicting his tweet.

Really, someone would pay $247 for one valve stem cap? Why?

BTW, I depressed myself this evening by watching the first episode of “Let Us Prey” which is on Investigation Discovery but also on HBO Max (I don’t understand it). Basically, it’s a documentary series following up on the work Sarah Smith of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram did back in 2018 about Independent Fundamental Baptist churches shuffling off predator preachers to other IFB churches. I could only get through one (2 hour episode) in between the commercials and the trauma. The next episode is about the “residential schools” these people run to deal with disobedient children and teens. I decided that could wait until tomorrow.

I mean, maybe I am more aware of this than most people, but holy….it just feels like to me that when it comes to religion, it doesn’t matter the group, there are (overwhelmingly) male predators taking advantage of their position and authority to assault girls and women. It’s depressing as hell.

Trump and/or his campaign will do like the Tories are doing across the pond: He’ll promise to bring down inflation and spin that as the same as bringing down prices, conning people into believing that if inflation goes from 3% to 2.5% then it means prices will come down 0.5% rather than simply rising a bit slower. And push the idea that inflation is tied to government spending and not corporate greed, so the “solution” to the problem is cutting the budget to the bone coupled with yet more tax cuts to himself and his buddies in the 0.01%. You’ll get promised $1 more per paycheck and told that that will help you cover the grocery bill.

Often we have lamented the innumeracy of the populace.

Inflation simply is. It’s the result of many things. Those who control the money supply can do things to push inflation down, like raising interest rates, but nothing they can do will be without consequences.

So now interest rates are higher than in the past few decades, which means mortgages are higher, and thus people have slowed down house buying.

Recent headline story was about a record fraction of American house-owners being mortgage-free. While that is good in some regards it also implies that new wanna-be house buyers aren’t coming forth, because they can’t afford to buy a place.

Demagogues like Trump always exist to take advantage of the hardships of the masses, to ply them with incendiary rhetoric. Trump can do nothing about inflation.

And inflation itself is currently rather low. That goes against GOP talking points but that will not stop the Republicans from making the high price of goods, and mortgages, a campaign issue.

While I appreciate Biden wanting to campaign on issues, he too is not able to control prices.

Some self-identifying progressives in this area have tried recently to put in wage controls on executives, to raise the minimum wage for health care workers, etc.

But wage controls are just the flip side of price controls.

Argentina elected a demagogue over the issue of inflation. There it really was, is, a problem, unlike here. We’ll see how long it takes before the winner crashes and burns on his inability to really fix things.

Anybody else remember all the talk when Obama took office and oil prices were high about how there were all of these oil/gas projects like shale oil that would magically cause oil prices to crash “tomorrow” if only Dems would agree to new/higher subsidies or to “cut the red tape”? And then, when oil prices dropped as a result of higher OPEC quotas and lower domestic consumption, suddenly all the talk about those oil/gas projects disappeared and we instead heard about how domestic oil producers were in danger of job losses and shutdowns due to Obama’s policies?

Right, during the Obama years we were sold on the idea that inflation was a consequence of government spending “crowding out private investment” and that efforts to raise wages or employee benefits was actually a negative because “they’ll just raise prices.” Yet when inflation fell in the latter years of his presidency, suddenly we were being told daily by the same talking heads that the Feds were afraid that deflation was on the horizon and “your money will be worthless!”, while production gluts that were bringing down prices were sold to us as a negative thing because the producers would slow/close production to “stabilize” prices at the cost of jobs.

Then a Repub takes office and magically production gluts are a sign that their policies are leading to “energy independence” or “record production” and we’re supposed to be thrilled that inflation is rising because it means people are earning more and can spend more.

The right-wing spin was that the value of everything you owned would drop in the event of deflation, meaning you were spending more to pay your bills and taking home less pay because your boss was cutting your hours or even firing you in order to lower their own costs. Of course, you also have to remember that the people who were pushing the “deflationary scare” the loudest were the ones who’d gotten us into the whole recession in the first place: The banks who were looking for more bailouts.

When it comes to stripping you of your basic rights, conservatives have three levels of “authority” they appeal to when the numbers aren’t on their side:

The highest level is the one they invoke when they think they’ve got the votes in Congress or the SCOTUS bench to impose their will, at which time they start belching about the “Supremacy Clause” and the idea that federal law is supreme. That’s when they get their pet AG to start lobbing lawsuits at the sinn…er, at state and local governments who won’t bend the knee.

When they don’t have the WH or Congress, then it’s “states rights” and a lot of talk about “labs of democracy” and “tenth amendment trumps your laws,” with the state AG being the attack dog and his usual target being any federal laws/rules/executive orders that don’t fit with “God’s” plan.

And if find themselves so unpopular that they can’t even form a majority in the state government, then it’s down to “local control” and the idea that 90% of your town of 47 thinking gays are icky means they don’t have to listen to the state government telling them to issue marriage licenses to gay couples. Though at this point, they usually can’t call on an AG and have to settle for the town asshole who is running for state office on a platform of “fighting for your rights” by filing ridiculous lawsuits against state/federal laws that the assholes in his future constituency don’t approve of.

From new smax:

“Former President Donald Trump said he intentionally has used former President Barack Obama’s name instead of President Joe Biden’s while making some sarcastic comments.

Trump, the current clear front-runner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, said Monday he has used Obama’s name as a way to suggest his role in the current Biden administration.

Whenever I sarcastically insert the name Obama for Biden as an indication that others may actually be having a very big influence in running our Country, Ron DeSanctimonious and his failing campaign apparatus, together with the Democrat’s Radical Left ‘Disinformation Machine,’ go wild saying that ‘Trump doesn’t know the name of our President, (CROOKED!) Joe Biden. He must be cognitively impaired,” Trump posted on Truth Social.

“No, I know both names very well, never mix them up, and know that they are destroying our Country.”

So when he refers to “my wife, Melanie” he is just mixing her up with a pole dancer he once paid to spank him in the late 80’s?

Sandy Hook families offer to settle Alex Jones defamation suit for $85 million, even as they won judgment for $1.5 billion and Jones claims he’s bankrupt.

Sandy Hook families who won nearly $1.5 billion in legal judgments against conspiracy theorist Alex Jones for calling the 2012 Connecticut school shooting a hoax have offered to settle that debt for only pennies on the dollar — at least $85 million over 10 years.

The offer was made in Jones’ personal bankruptcy case in Houston last week. In a legal filing, lawyers for the families said they believed the proposal was a viable way to help resolve the bankruptcy reorganization cases of both Jones and his company, Free Speech Systems.

But in the sharply worded document, the attorneys continued to accuse the Infowars host of failing to curb his personal spending and “extravagant lifestyle,” failing to preserve the value of his holdings, refusing to sell assets and failing to produce certain financial documents.

“Jones has failed in every way to serve as the fiduciary mandated by the Bankruptcy Code in exchange for the breathing spell he has enjoyed for almost a year. His time is up,” lawyers for the Sandy Hook families wrote.

The families’ lawyers offered Jones two options: either liquidate his estate and give the proceeds to creditors, or pay them at least $8.5 million a year for 10 years — plus 50% of any income over $9 million per year.

Jones claims poverty, even as his conspiracy site continues to rake in money and he spends like there’s no tomorrow.

Unfortunately, no, because we don’t jail debtors here in this country. In fact, there’s not much anyone can do about it. The court has decreed he owes them $1.5B, but their only enforcement mechanism is to hold him in civil contempt and tell him he owes more (non-dischargeable in bankruptcy) money… but as long as he doesn’t care how much debt he accrues, he doesn’t have to pay a single red cent.

I would imagine, though, the court can assign somebody with a little green accountant’s hat to rifle through his books and start forcibly liquidating assets? I mean, if you declare bankruptcy, somebody’s gonna be rifling through your shit to see what creditors can rake out of you.

Certain kinds of debts are non-dischargeable in bankruptcy, meaning that the bankruptcy court can’t touch them; you owe what you owe, regardless of how badly that puts you into debt. Alex Jones’s debt to the Sandy Hook families is one of those; I can’t remember the exact legal terminology, but it amounts to, “He did something bad, intentionally, and got himself into a metric fuckton of debt.” The bankruptcy trustee could try to gather up what assets he has and try to discharge that debt, but that process is going to drag on for a while.

Hunter Biden is willing to testify publicly, his lawyer says amid House GOP efforts to discredit him and the president

Lawyer Abbe Lowell said the president’s son is willing to testify in a public hearing before the House Oversight Committee in response to a subpoena this month that is seeking a deposition. It is a striking escalation in the battle between the president’s son and congressional Republicans, who have focused on his past business dealings and have launched impeachment hearings aimed at President Biden.

‘There will be receipts’: Giuliani associate Lev Parnas teases tell-all book

Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman were the two associates of Rudy Giuliani who funneled campaign money from foreigners to Donald Trump, according to a Justice Department indictment. But more than their scheme, their work with Giuliani as he worked to dig up dirt on Joe Biden in Ukraine.

Parnas was sentenced to 20 months in prison and three years of supervised release in June 2022, after pleading guilty. He did work with congressional committees when asked for information in 2020.

Posting on social media Monday, Parnas announced his upcoming tell-all book, “Shadow Diplomacy: Lev Parnas’ Wild Ride from Brooklyn to Donald Trump’s Inner Circle.”

“The book’s timeline spans his involvement in critical diplomatic efforts, spanning from his conversation with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro alongside the president’s lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, to his solo discussions with two Ukrainian presidents and his former political allegiance with an obscure Florida Congressman who later became the state’s controversial Governor because of their friendship,” the Parnas site teases.

It goes on to say that his stories will shed light on the “intricate dance between political figures, governments, and behind-the-scenes operators, including the story behind the facts that led to ex-President Donald Trump’s first impeachment trial.”

Parnas claims that Biden’s son, Hunter, was “set up” with the seat on the Burisma board.

“It remains true that there were meetings with Rudy in early 2019 discussing the Russians having Hunter Biden’s emails, months before the same material ended up on the Hunter Biden laptop in that Delaware repair shop,” Parnas wrote in a 2022 thread. “It doesn’t take a PhD to ascertain what went on here. Parnas was later arrested and then the emails magically showed up at a blind computer repairman’s shop.”

“It’s an amusing truth that comes up with regularity: Men who love Donald Trump struggle on the dating market. This is neither surprising nor regrettable. Supporting Trump is much like refusing to bathe, blowing your nose in your hands or farting loudly on purpose. It’s a repugnant habit that makes you repulsive to normal people. The whole point of dating and marriage is to find happiness, not to spend the rest of one’s days suffering in silence while the racist you live with cackles over Greg Gutfeld’s latest hateful diatribe disguised as ‘comedy.’ [snip]

“But of course, women’s happiness is not actually the concern of the Washington Post editorial board. The more serious argument comes from their insistence that cross-political marriages will help save the nation from ‘the Trump-era divisions’ and social ills stemming from men’s misogyny. Basically, it’s a gussied-up version of the classic ‘Beauty and the Beast’ fantasy, where a woman’s love can turn the brute into a prince. It’s cruel on its face to expect women to give up their own happiness in hopes they can turn a redhat into a better man through patience and love. But it’s also a false hope. It’s hard enough to get anyone to change their minds about politics. Trying to get men who already think women are inferior to listen to their liberal wives is a joke…” — Amanda Marcotte, in Salon, writing why “It’s a good thing women won’t date Trump voters,” an opinion in opposition to a brain- dead, misogynist editorial (no link!) in the fast- declining Washington Post that essentially urges women to overlook political objections and give those Trumpers some lovin’. Marcotte’s response in full is a great response and well worth the read.

I occasionally just break down and buy a newspaper. But even then, I am often disappointed. Just basic things like spelling checkers.

I bought a copy of Die Zeit, a rather left-leaning weekly newspaper, and was mildly bothered when they mentioned Pete Buttigieg from “South Bent” Indiana. Granted, it is an obscure town I would probably not know about except for the Chicago and South Bend Railroad.

But I was really annoyed when they showed a photo of “Manhatten”…the sort of mistake a first-year student makes.

So I then switched to reading the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung which is much better written and edited, but it has started to develop a really smarmy right-wing cant to its already conservative approach.

And I find that a lot of modern Conservatism is not so much about principles or policies as it is about expressing a cantankerous, contrarian and confrontational approach to life and social interaction.

And for many, Trumpism is such a cult that asking someone to amend or modify their beliefs is like asking them to stop believing in God.

I was good friends with many of the women basketball players at the college I attended. We (members of the men’s track team with limited eye-hand coordination) would occasionally shoot around with them for fun. Once in a while we’d get approached by a group of frat boys (almost always frat boys) who didn’t know the women were on the college team and they’d ask to play.

Most of the games seemed to end when one of the frat boys suddenly pulled a muscle. So many just got furious, even after we started telling them upfront that they were playing college basketball athletes.

My regular reminder — a change of only 40,000 votes in the right states in 2020, and that is the nightmare we would have endured. Koch network pledges ‘full support’ of ‘unmatched grassroots army’ to stop Trump in GOP primary

…a fool and their money…

On Tuesday, Americans for Prosperity (AFP) Action — one of the biggest and most well-funded conservative political networks in the US — announced it would be mobilizing in support of former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley in the 2024 Republican presidential primary.

The Washington Post reported that AFP Action, which is chiefly funded by influential far-right billionaire Charles Koch, is throwing its weight behind Haley’s campaign, pledging its massive organizational infrastructure to help her defeat former President Donald Trump.

“AFP Action is proud to throw our full support behind Nikki Haley, who offers America the opportunity to turn the page on the current political era, to win the Republican primary and defeat Joe Biden next November,” AFP Action senior advisor Emily Seidel wrote in a memo. “Haley will have the full weight and scope of AFP Action’s unmatched grassroots army and resources to help her earn the support of Americans to become the next President of the United States of America.”

In addition to putting the Trump campaign on notice, the endorsement of the Koch network is also a significant blow to the campaign of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who until recently was thought of as the best alternative to Trump in the GOP primary. However, DeSantis’ poll numbers in early state primaries have been sliding, while Haley’s have been steadily climbing.

Of course part of the reason she thinks she needs that truck is to cart the MLM scam cosmetic company crap to the events she does every weekend thinking it’ll make her rich but that’s a lost cause as well.

I think Koch is smart enough to know by now that Trump will use populism to attack corporate interests if it means his own popularity and ability to press issues most important to him- the ability to be cruel to others not exactly like him.

This means using EO to institute price limits on everything from gasoline to rent. The Libertarians fanboys will quickly switch to populism and drop the pretenses of government out-of-my-business if it means their often violent fantasies towards enemies (liberals, LBGT+, women and anyone with brown skin) can come true.

Trump is now being gauged as bad for business. Whether the billionaire business-first crowd like Koch can muster enough grassroots to upset Trump remains to be seen, but I seriously doubt it. Frankenstein’s Populist has been constructed and released and there is no putting the monster back in the lab. It has to be defeated by Democrats.

11 USC 523(a)(6) - debts arising from willful and malicious injury are non-dischargeable.

Comer Pyle goes on a rant after Hunter calls his bluff

rawstory.com

On Tuesday, President Joe Biden’s son said that he would testify to Comer’s House Oversight and Reform Committee, but only if it was in public. Comer had requested that it be behind closed doors.

And Fox correspondent Chad Pergram reported that Comer is lashing out at the request for transparency.

“Hunter Biden is trying to play by his own rules instead of following the rules required of everyone else,” Pergram paraphrased Comer as saying. “That won’t stand with House Republicans. Our lawfully issued subpoena to Hunter Biden requires him to appear for a deposition on December 13.”

“We expect full cooperation with our subpoena for a deposition but also agree that Hunter Biden should have [the] opportunity to testify in a public setting at a future date,” he continued.

He hasn’t revealed why he doesn’t want Biden’s hearing to be public.

There have been two previous offers by the Biden team to cooperate with the Oversight Committee that Comer has turned down, Biden’s lawyer Abbe Lowell’s letter to Congress says.

Lowell’s letter also points out that there is no legislative purpose for the hearing with the younger Biden. Republicans have said that they began an “impeachment inquiry,” but they have not formally voted to open a legal impeachment investigation. Without such a vote, Republicans would need a legislative purpose for the hearing — and that’s a legal discrepancy that may be headed to court.

Joseph Costello, press secretary for the Oversight Democrats, posted a video of Comer making it clear he was fine with a hearing and, further, that he would agree to testify alongside Biden.

“I will be happy — I will sit with Hunter Biden and Jim Biden, and we can go over our LLCs. […] Let’s do that. Let’s do that. We’ll be transparent,” said Comer.

Jones is in a Chapter 11. He has to propose a plan of reorganization, which requires him to pay back to his priority unsecured creditors; his secured creditors; and a portion of his general unsecured debt. Any such plan has to show that the plan is more beneficial to creditors than a straight liquidation.

The result of a failure to communicate was usually me making a trip around the building or the campus to:

Plug something in that the user told us on the phone was already plugged in.

Plug something back in that should never have been removed in the first place.

Remove something the user had plugged in that should never have been plugged in in the first place.

Switch on something that the user told us on the phone was already switched on.

Switch off something the user had switched on, like the fan heater that kept blowing desk fuses.

My hero is a friend who worked in IT security for a UK Government department. He had a letter he carried in his pocket when visiting sites that said basically “The bearer of this letter has my express authority to do anything he wants to your IT infrastructure.” It was signed by the current Cabinet minister in charge of his department. He would destructively decommission privately-installed and unsecured WiFi hotspots connected to the secure government infrastructure networks with glee and the office managers couldn’t lay a finger on him.

What I don’t get, is why prices would come down? Inflation is still positive, just because it isn’t as high, the 9% inflation is still baked in plus an additional 3 percent each year. Even with SCIF-level security, no public or media access, no video or audio recording, somewhere there’s going to be a (reasonably) accurate record of what was said; and barring the unlikely incidence of Hunter Biden’s testimony containing Classified information, no way to feasibly keep it from leaking (and aren’t there some Democrats on the committee?).

What it sounds like to me is that Comer’s fulminations stem from the likelihood that his own “LLC” dealings might get exposed as well: hence the huffy insistence on “the rules”…

They want to selectively show pieces of testimony out of context. They have excelled at doing that over the years. James O’Keefe was a master at that brand of disinformation. Inflation over the last couple of months has been essentially flat from what I’ve read. If that’s true, and shipping costs have come down, then that should be reflected in cheaper prices for products.

Yep, he’s a modern Robespierre who sees that guillotine coming down the road.

Jimmy Kimmel shreds MTG to bits:

Last week, in an effort to promote her new book MTG, the Georgia congresswoman posted on X, “Hey @jimmykimmel since most of your show content is your nonstop lies about me, why don’t you have me on your show? I’ll bring you a copy of my book and we can chat about what needs to happen to SAVE AMERICA!”

“I guess I’m a Hollywood libtard that’s part of the celebrity pedophile Satan club,” Kimmel joked Monday night. “Until she has a book to promote, then “I’d love to swing by!”

After reminding his viewers that Greene once literally called the police on him for making jokes about her, Kimmel marveled at the audacity that she would ask for an invitation. “Though I have to admit, part of me wants to invite her here so I can let her wait for an hour down in the green room doing power squats—and then bump her,” he said. “Even just to screw with Matt Damon it would be fun. But I also don’t want rabies so…”

From there, Kimmel spent a few moments breaking down just how poorly Greene’s book is apparently selling, noting that it’s “ranked number 65 in the Women’s Biography category” behind “a book written by Kanye’s ex-girlfriend,” two different Michelle Obama memoirs and 60 places behind Paris Hilton’s “Paris the Memoir.”

“Marjorie Taylor Greene’s book is such a bomb, I might have to report it to the Capitol Police,” the host concluded.

Though I can’t help but wonder if this was just a ploy by Empty G to draw more attention to her awful ass book.

This is after literal decades of insisting that they viewed women who sought abortions as “victims” and would only focus their attention on abortion doctors and clinics because they were “preying” on vulnerable women.

It’s never actually been like that. The whole intention was to punish women for getting abortions. That rest was just a smokescreen.

So, about that vehicle that exploded at the Rainbow Bridge last week.

Turns out that the driver of the Bentley Flying Spur lost control as the vehicle accelerated and literally flew into the barrier and exploded.

So, not terrorism. Just garden variety rich dumbass who flaunted his wealth with an expensive and impractical car trying to catch a concert, blew up when the car lost control.

Oh, and apparently the car was not involved in a recall for a stuck accelerator going back to 2021.

Fox haz sad it’s not terrorism.

My brother and I talked about this on Thanksgiving and again on Saturday. At that point we didn’t know the car was a Bentley. I’ve been texting him updates. And given that the car turned into basically a heap of metal slag due to the fire, we’re probably never going to find out much more than we already know. But interesting that it wasn’t part of a stuck accelerator recall.

Ron DeSantis’s chief elections fraud official collapsed after abruptly leaving a “contentious” meeting in the Florida governor’s office, then lay dead or dying for almost half an hour in the hallway outside until he was found, an investigation published on Monday has revealed.

Previously unreported details of the September 2022 death of Peter Antonacci in the Tallahassee capitol building appeared on the website of the Florida Bulldog, an independent online watchdog of the state’s politics and government.

The outlet, acting on a tip-off that Antonacci, 74, died after an argument with DeSantis, submitted a public information records request to obtain redacted documents from the Florida department of law enforcement (FDLE).

None of the 17 pages, which the Bulldog released online, confirm that DeSantis was actually present at the meeting in a conference room at his own office, attended by, among others, Florida’s secretary of state, James Byrd, and Mark Glass, the FDLE commissioner.

But they did reveal other details that were until now not publicly disclosed, including that Antonacci died after a heated meeting in the governor’s office, rather than generically “at work in the Capitol building” as first stated; and that he lay undiscovered for 24 minutes after he collapsed in the hallway immediately outside.

During the meeting, the purpose of which was redacted from the papers, Antonacci became “agitated” and “frustrated” at various times, witnesses said.

From what I’ve read, the Bentley recall applied only to RHD vehicles (which had only been delivered to the UK and Australia); though it is curious that a similar issue MAY have been the cause of the Niagara Falls death flight. Though there’s so little left of the car or its passengers that determining the ultimate cause of the accident at this point is likely to be futile.

This is a wowser. The International House of Prayer-Kansas City has been hit by a scandal involving their founder, Mike Bickle, who is accused of predatory behavior. With that, there’s also been other scandals that have come back to the fore, such how IHOPKC took on Brad Tebbutt as a minister, when they knew he’d sexually assaulted Jennifer Roach. There are rapes that weren’t reported at all.

Canadian Tara Jean Stevens has had a podcast for the last few years called “Heaven Bent,” which is an examination of the charismatic side of Evangelicalism. This current season, she took on IHOPKC and exposed a lot of this stuff. Right at the *end* of the current season’s run, the Mike Bickle case exploded. She’s been following up.

frequencypodcastnetwork.com

Oh yeah, one thing more you need to know about IHOPKC is that for the last 20+ years they have had a 24x7 prayer room going ALL THE TIME. Usually, most of the time, in fact all of the time, it’s live and you can watch it on YouTube. Right now, because there is a protest in the prayer room, the powers that be are apparently running video. And to that I say, GOOD. Take it right to them.

The reality is that these people will likely be trespassed, but you know, moving it out to the sidewalk is just as good, IMHO.

A different EC nightmare. This is the other nightmare where the election is thrown into the House — and a change of 40,000 votes would have done that in 2020.

Not if we can flip two house delegations (23 are democratic now). Between Mike Johnson, repealing Obamacare and nationwide prohibition of abortion, I think we have a reasonable chance of doing it.
