They think having faith and following the Christian moral code is the greatest thing on earth, and can’t understand why anyone would reject that. “Sexual anarchy” is their code for “sinners,” the people who willingly choose not to follow their strict regimen of belief. They think forcing people to live a moral Christian life will open their eyes to how wonderful “being saved” is. Here’s the thing: Even Jesus understood that not everybody would choose to be saved. We don’t get to force people to be Christians, that defeats the entire purpose of Christianity.

HARVEY, Ill. (CBS) — The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward of $150,000 for information on the postal worker robbed at gunpoint in Harvey this week - by a man and woman who had a child with them.

As CBS 2’s Tara Molina reported Thursday, the reward is for information leading to the arrest of the suspects - who are considered armed and dangerous.

This is all a brand-new move to target the spike in crimes we have been investigating.

Sadly, I can only remember from memory what they sounded like as I am deaf in my right ear due to my cochlear implant, and my left year’s residual hearing is extremely bad.

There isn’t one, but Musk is doing the tech bro thing where you present the thing that’s going to make you money as The Future, And Thus Inevitable.

The fantasy is pretty obvious: he wants to rent seek from every single transaction he can, in one jump becoming the Ultimate Middleman drinking the milkshake of banking, online retail, and connector services that squat atop gig work.

The “everything app” has always been his obsession, but it’s also the ne plus ultra of what Silicon Valley disruption has always aspired to: break existing systems not to create something more efficient, but to place yourself as the hard-coded, immovable landlord that can tweak the flow of capital, goods, and services to your advantage. It’s the enshittification of everything.

I had an employee at a previous company who was a HUGE Rammstein fan. He had a terminal illness…had to go on medical leave for six months and I held his job for him (he had three published books on mathematics and a couple of patents to his name and yet was a QA engineer albeit a brilliant one). Came back wearing a double-filter mask due to immunity issues (this was over 10 years before Covid). I gave him an office so he could close the door and take his mask off while he worked. I left the company before he did and he got sick and was in the hospital for a while…I never saw him before he passed because I was too busy at my new job and when I called another co-worker to find out where his room was he’d passed already.

Brilliant motherfucker. I still miss him a decade after he died.

I find this speculation strange when Musk is just doing the most capitalist thing possible.

It’s not like what he’s proposing is even novel…all of the major tech companies are trying for this—Facebook trying twice, first with a cryptocurrency and then with the metaverse, Google doing so through the constant purchase (and demolition) of new services, Amazon by just continuing to be Amazon. A big chunk of the AI hustle is the belief that maybe it (like crypto before it) will be The Disruption that allows a developer to create the toll-booth-strewn backbone of how everyone uses the internet to function day-to-day.

Like…the actual aspiration here is to own the spine of modern global interaction so that nothing can happen that is not monitored and monetized by a tech monopoly that is beyond national borders. All participants in this dream are the motherfuckers Smith and Marx tried to warn you about: why accept value-eating competition and innovation when you can just be the Final Landlord. The Saudis are into this because they’re incredibly rich people who would prefer to remain so rich eternally that they don’t need to hitch themselves to normal statehood and can just forever jam their dicks in the ear of the world: scratch a perfunctory level of cultural display and they’re just rotten-hearted bastards trying to hit exit velocity from the constraints of their petrostate-slash-pilgrimage-extortion-scheme.
