The only way that that could possibly work is if Trump not only loses in November, but he takes all the bootlickers with him on the way out. So long as asshats like Gaetz and MTG still occupy seats in Congress, then Trumpism will be alive and well in American politics. The push when he’s gone will not be to bury his memory, but instead a fight over who is the true “heir” to his brand of politics.

Oh, definitely. When Trump is out of the picture once and for all, I expect a battle royale to claim his throne. Hell, I think Donnie, Jr. will even be in the mix, laying claim to being the one true heir to MAGA.
