it’s not that surprising, honestly. Ohtani has been a professional athlete since the age of 18 - which is around the time that he met Mizuhara. A lot of professional athletes surround themselves with people they trust and give them access to their personal affairs that most normal people wouldn’t. It allows the athlete to focus on their training and sport while others handle the basic business things in their lives. Mizuhara, it seems, abused that trust.

I won’t even talk about household finances with anybody except State licensed professionals and these people are all “Hey bro I trust you here’s my computer and password list just go ahead and raw dog my brokerage account.”
