Dicking the court around by not being prepared for defense exhibits wasn’t a good delay strategy.

It’s worked for him in Loose Cannon’s courtroom, but that sort of thing doesn’t fly before a real judge. They tend to take a dim view of arguments that start with, “Well, yes, we could’ve, but we just didn’t, because…”
