Not excusing what he said, just pointing out some people get stuck on a certain worldview no matter how much the actual world changes around them.

Yet you are excusing what he said. His age and era are irrelevant. I’m 52 and grew up in an era where calling people “f*g” (and worse) was acceptable. People should change if the change is for good.
