“Make Me a Sandwich”
I think it’s time for a creepy horror short in the grand old EC Comics tradition.
How many sandwiches can Marcy make before going crazy?

It’s not paranoia to suspect there really are Russian trolls infiltrating social media and spreading divisive propaganda.
It’s what they do. And with this election they have more motivation than ever to step it up.

I sat down and tried to sum up the last week or so of campus protests. This is what I got.

What’s a good German phrase for Nostalgia Overload?
re: #1 Charles Johnson
After the 2016 election Tumblr sent messages to everyone who had liked or reblogged something from a Russian troll. I know some of them are really obvious and clumsy, but some of these were surprisingly tricky. One I remember attacked Hillary in the guise of being a Bernie supporter. The troll was on her case for not caring about student loan debt. That is actually carefully calibrated for the Tumblr crowd.

Sovereign citizen nuttery at its finest.
Yea this just confirms that she’s a sociopath and an idiot, she proudly tells her story and then is like wait, what’s the uproar over here? I said it was an untrainable puppy and a disgusting smelling goat.

Yeah, don’t make the mistake of thinking it’s always going to be easy to detect propaganda trolls.
It’s difficult to calibrate how much suspicion is reasonable, but there should always be some, if anything seems off.
re: #1 Charles Johnson
My darkest fear is that they’re going to go for a very crude but even more toxic version of Rehoboam from Westworld via an integrated series of AI systems designed to target specific unstable people and convince them to go postal on election day.
Like, yes, social media bots will be a part of that, but the capabilities are already in place to go so far beyond, and this is a target rich environment full of people who have largely given up on democracy and having to win elections.

At worst, they could inspire a bunch of sporadic nutcases spread thinly about the country. Those would be handled with everyday police responses. Jan 6 was their high-water mark.
Where can someone buy a house with no yard?
The company our HOA uses (because in Texas all new housing developments are required to have an HOA and all HOAs are required to use a management company) is crappy, and so we’re switching, which means that I’m about to get hit fixing a bunch of stuff I don’t care about with money I don’t have.
I really do not like or care for the yard of my house. All I ever really wanted was a place to raise my kids and not get wet.
re: #12 goddamnedfrank
Wasn’t something along that line also an X Files episode?
Adding: Did a quick search and the episode was season 2, episode 3 entitled Blood.

Wasn’t that the one with the machines enticing people to kill?

Just the right amount of violent chaos concentrated in just a handful of cities could end up flipping several swing States from blue to red. All they really have to do is make it difficult to vote any other way but in person on election day and then make it feel unsafe to do so at select locations.
The aftermath of all that will look and smell rotten af, but they control the Supreme Court and absolutely do not care.

Yep. After being sprayed by a ‘pesticide’ that heightened their phobias.

The post-Jan 6 Justice system response has triggered a deep conviction among the RW goons that their Sunday Schools and bowling teams are swamped with FBI/CIA/Deep State infiltrators. They ain’t gonna make the muster.

Sometimes it’s just all you can do.
re: #15 Belafon
If you move far enough out in the country you can buy a house and just not cut the yard. No one will complain.
