Former Arab News editor John R. Bradley, responsible for quite a few truly ugly pieces for the Arab News, is (as we noted yesterday) still welcome at The New Republic, even after writing this:

Another quotation is from Martin Peretz, publisher of The New Republic, an ultra-right campaigning American political journal that has long been defined by its crude Zionist agenda.

Bradley has told The New Republic that the line above was added by aljazeerah.info when they republished his review of Michael Oren’s book. But as you can see, the review in question originally appeared in the Arab News.

Someone is lying.

But keep in mind; even if that one line about TNR was not written by Bradley, the rest of that review is just full of ridiculous lies and distortions. Why is TNR publishing the work of this highly dubious reporter? Will they hire Peter Arnett next?

And they’ve just posted a new piece by Bradley: Queer Sheik. (Registration required.)

After the standard Bradley set for accuracy and integrity at the Arab News, anything he writes should be viewed with suspicion. As I point out in my fisking of his Oren review, he’s not above fabricating people and quotes to add color to his articles.
