Arab-Americans will gather in Brooklyn Tuesday night to show their support for executed Hamas kingpin Sheikh Ahmed Yassin: Arab-Americans plan protest over killing of Hamas leader. (Hat tip: Allah.)
“We condemn that,” said Zein Ramawi, a member of the Brooklyn-based Arab American Federation, a nonprofit umbrella organization and one of the groups that planned the gathering.
“Killing an handicapped man in a wheelchair doesn’t make Israelis any safer than before,” Ramawi said. “Why didn’t they arrest him? Why didn’t they keep him in jail instead of sending an apache. They killed nine other people and injured two of his sons.”
“We want the people to know how we feel and what we believe,” Ramawi said. “When an Israeli gets killed, it seems like the end of the world. When one hundred Palestinians get killed, nobody cares, including [President George W.] Bush and his gang in the White House.”
