Photos From Iraqi Insurgence Solidarity Day in SF
LGF minion “zombie” has forwarded some really mind-blowing photographs from the San Francisco rally in favor of killing American soldiers in Iraq.
Think my description is a little over the top?
Think again.
Hasan Akbar is the Muslim soldier on trial for rolling a grenade into an officers’ tent, then shooting people as they tried to escape.
“Everywhere.” Including the City of Love, San Francisco, ya think?
Sign expressing desire for vengeance for the death of a terrorist: check.
Thumb ring: check.
Surfeit of self esteem: check.
Emptily malevolent grin: check.
Peace out, dude!
The best thing about the “anti-war” mob is their compassion and sensitivity—for those who kill Americans.
But whatever you do, don’t question their patriotism.
UPDATE: Guess who’s discussing signs like this—are they a bad thing for the left? a good thing? are they wimps for even asking? and what about that saintly Rachel Corrie? Yes, it’s the friendly folks at Markos “Screw Them” Zuniga’s place: Just Plain Stupid. The person who started the thread has a very good point; my advice to the Kos Krazies is to listen and learn.
Several right-wing blogs have reported on an Insurgence Solidarity March in San Francisco and elsewhere. If these reports are accurate, I say these demonstrations represent the same kind of juvenile crap that persistently undermined the antiwar movement of the Vietnam era and maintained support for Richard Nixon. (And I will call it juvenile even though the fellow in the photograph has gray hair.)
As big a mistake as I believe the Iraq invasion was, as long as our soldiers are dying at the hands of those insurgents, I will not be claiming “solidarity” with them, and I am disgusted with any allegedly civilized person who does.
If this same kind of nonsense goes on in the streets of New York City during the Republican National Convention, we can count on four more years of the Bush Regime.
By the way, I don’t know why, but I have a distinct feeling they don’t like LGF over there. Oh well. I’m sure it’s nothing personal.
