Al-Reuters news wire joins the mourning for a mass murderer openly dedicated to genocide: Gaza Mourns Slain Hamas Leader with Anger, Grief.
GAZA (Reuters) - Even in death, the voice of slain Hamas leader Abdel-Aziz al-Rantissi, the Palestinian militant group’s most outspoken hard-liner, could not be silenced.
His defiant words recorded just days before his assassination Saturday in an Israeli missile strike boomed from loudspeakers at Gaza’s Martyrs Cemetery as he was buried amid cries of revenge from hundreds of thousands of mourners.
“Hamas will not die,” Rantissi said, no matter how many of its leaders Israel killed.
Rantissi, 56, was killed in his car less than a month after Israel assassinated Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, Hamas’s wheelchair-bound founder, as he left prayers at a Gaza mosque. …
Now Rantissi’s followers echoed his fiery oratory as they marched in his funeral procession Sunday. “We swear to do what you always wanted and always asked us to do,” a Hamas member shouted over a loudspeaker mounted on a truck. “We will slaughter the Jews until they leave our lands.”
Arab stringer Nidal al-Mughrabi really gets into the event, with a poignant description of Rantisi’s “shrapnel-sliced face:” Hamas Vows to Avenge Israel’s Killing of Rantissi.
GAZA (Reuters) - Hundreds of thousands of Palestinian mourners cried for vengeance Sunday for Hamas leader Abdel-Aziz al-Rantissi, slain by Israeli missiles even as the Jewish state plans to quit the group’s Gaza stronghold. …
Rantissi’s body was carried aloft on a stretcher draped in a green Hamas flag. Mourners kissed his shrapnel-sliced face and others tossed flower petals onto the body. Fists shook at the sky in anger as four Israeli warplanes roared overhead.
“The blood of Yassin and Rantissi will not be wasted. Their blood will force the eruption of new volcanoes,” one militant cried. Thousands took up the refrain of revenge, chanting: “We will sacrifice our souls and blood for Rantissi.”
