Hersh says the Abu Ghraib prison scandal is going to lead to another Church Commission—and as one of the prime driving forces making this happen, he should know.

The Church Commission was a highly-publicized investigation into CIA abuses that opened the door for the essential gutting of the CIA’s effectiveness, some say leading to the intelligence failures that created the conditions for 9/11.

Seymour Hersh seems to take great delight in being part of another such media-driven meltdown. In the midst of a war.

But you can tell that none of the people quoted in this article—an article that purports to reveal the inner workings of Pentagon intelligence strategies—really believe we’re in a war at all.
