User Registration.

That’s right. It’s here. You can now register a username and password for posting comments at LGF.

Unregistered comments will still be allowed, however … at times of severe attack by Morlocks and trolls, unregistered comments may be disallowed, and only registered users will be able to post.

This system gives us a lot of flexibility; because even while unregistered comments are enabled, only registered users will be able to use the names they registered. This should put an end to trolls who impersonate other users, so if you’ve been harassed this way you should register your name right away.

Also, if you’re an AOL user who cannot post comments because of our AOL proxy block, you can now enter the fray simply by registering.

(And please note: LGF regulars will get preference for their current names. If someone tries to register a name that’s already been in use by someone else, I’ll be deleting those registrations.)

UPDATE: I’ll have a way for users to change their passwords in the future.
