BBC Finds New Nadir
In an article about Jordan’s announcement that they are ready to send troops to Iraq (very good news for the Bush administration, although the value of Jordanian troops is yet to be ascertained), the BBC commits a stunning falsehood—an outright inversion of the truth. (Hat tip: Cliff.)
King Abdullah, who was educated in the UK, is one of the US’ closest allies in the Arab region.
However, the Jordanian people, who are largely of Palestinian origin, are strongly opposed to Washington’s policy in the region, particularly in Iraq and Israel.
That sets a new nadir for the always nadir-seeking BBC, because the reality of history is that there has never been an Arab state called “Palestine,” and the so-called “Palestinians” are mainly of Jordanian and/or Egyptian descent.
The truth is exactly opposite to the way they describe it.
Keeping up with the mind-boggling flood of disinformation from mainstream media is becoming difficult. And I can only get to 0.001% of it here. I feel like I’m trapped in an Orwellian nightmare sometimes.
