In the past three days, I rode a total of approximately 150 miles: 56 miles on Saturday (south to Palos Verdes, then back north to Santa Monica Pier and back), 44 miles on Sunday (south to Palos Verdes and around the PV Country Club), and about 50 today (south to Hawthorne Boulevard along the special lizard-challenging route). There were a lot of people out riding over the weekend, including some idiots probably all fired up by the Tour de France, with brand new Cannondales and Treks and matching team outfits, racing through crowds of kids on training wheels like bicycle bozos on steroids. The Tour’s good for the bike stores, I guess.
