Kerry Sanitizes His Blog

Been to the Official Kerry-Edwards Blog since the Democratic Convention? Well, I hadn’t either, until Jheka asked a question: didn’t the Kerry blog used to have a link to the lair of serious dementia, Democratic Underground?

Well, yes, it did. But at some point in the last week, the blog was sanitized, and all links to external sites removed.

Don’t believe me? Google’s cache comes through again. Notice that the official Kerry blogroll, in addition to Democratic Underground, also included links to many other seriously … uh … progressive blogs.

So why were all these friends of Kerry suddenly shunned? Did someone on the campaign finally bother to read what was being recommended in their name, on their site? Was Flipper ashamed of being associated with these people?

UPDATE at 8/1/04 7:04:37 pm:

The Google cache link above has been updated (shortly after I posted this entry) and no longer shows the list of embarrassing links. Damn. These guys are good. Anyone save this?

UPDATE at 8/1/04 8:19:09 pm:

Here’s a Google cached page that still has Kerry’s disappeared blogroll: John Kerry for President Blog. (Hat tip: freedomsound.)
