Jihad Recruitment at Birmingham Mosque
The tiny minority of extremists left piles of flyers calling for jihad at Britain’s Birmingham Central Mosque: Fury over appeal on terrorism.
A Birmingham Muslim leader today condemned those responsible for leaving leaflets in a mosque which encourages Muslims to become terrorist fighters.
Piles of the flyers were found by an official at Birmingham Central Mosque in Highgate last week.
The literature, bearing the name Ahle Sunnah Wal Jamah, which mosque officials say is often used as an alias for radical group Al Muhajiroun, urges worshippers to become Mujahideen fighters and asks them to “pray for death and decay to be visited upon the West”.
Mosque chairman Dr Mohammed Naseem warned that the leaflets could act as a recruitment aid for would-be terrorists.
He said: “It is very worrying. These leaflets appear to be encouraging Muslims to become Mujahideen fighters. This sort of thing getting into the wrong hands is very dangerous. They are the views of a minority of people but young, impressionable Muslims may read this and think they should be doing these things.”
I wonder how many mosques got a delivery of these flyers—and didn’t report them?
