On the bike path this morning, the air was dirtier than I’ve seen it in a long time, hanging off the coast in three separate layers of brown grunge like a toxic chocolate wedding cake. Nonetheless, I did 40 miles at a medium pace, south to Malaga Cove, trying to breathe through my nose to minimize the damage as much as possible.
