Thank You, Tony
British Prime Minister Tony Blair will undergo surgery to correct heart palpitations, and now is a good time to restate our gratitude for his unflinching support for the United States, and wish him a speedy recovery: Blair to Have Heart Procedure, Will Serve 3rd Term.
LONDON (Reuters) - British Prime Minister Tony Blair said he would go into hospital Friday for a procedure to correct heart palpitations but vowed he will serve a full third term in office if he wins an election expected next year.
Blair’s office said the procedure was routine and he would be fully recovered and back at work early next week.
The prime minister, a close ally of President Bush, has faced the toughest 18 months of his political career with a country divided over war in Iraq and his trust ratings plunging in the process.
