Good News for the President
The latest TIME Magazine poll shows Bush with a 5-point lead over Kerry.
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Bush’s lead against Democratic nominee John Kerry has widened to 5 points, according to the latest Time magazine poll released on Friday.
The telephone survey from Oct. 19 to Oct. 21 showed 51 percent of likely voters would vote for Bush and 46 percent for Kerry, with two percent favoring Independent candidate Ralph Nader. A similar Time poll last week showed Bush with 48 percent and Kerry with 47 percent — a statistical dead heat — with 3 percent favoring Nader.
The ABC poll of 1,200 adults included 803 likely voters. It had a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.
