Kerry says US is United, Then Slams Bush
John Kerry executes his most astounding flip-flop yet; in the same speech, he first says “America is united” …
“Let me make it clear to people all across the world: As Americans, we are all absolutely united, all of us. There are no Democrats, there are no Republicans,” Kerry said in a rally in Wisconsin.
“As Americans, we are united in our determination to destroy, capture and kill Osama bin Laden and all of the terrorists.”
… then he wows the crowd with his same hackneyed “win the peace/outsourced capturing bin Laden” attack-dog rhetoric …
“As I have said for two years now, when Osama bin Laden and Al-Qaeda were cornered in the mountains of Tora Bora, it was wrong to outsource the job of capturing them to Afghan warlords who a week earlier were fighting against us,” Kerry said.
Bush, he said, should have deployed “the best-trained troops in the world, who wanted to avenge America for what happened in New York and Pennsylvania and in Washington,” a reference to the September 11, 2001 attacks.
“It was wrong to divert our forces from Afghanistan so we could rush to war in Iraq without a plan to win the peace,” said Kerry.
