Anti-Israel, Anti-US March in Dearborn
To mark the end of Ramadan, Muslims in Dearborn, Michigan held an anti-Israel, anti-America demonstration:
The al-Reuters photo caption is astoundingly biased; the “al-Aqsa Mosque” is identified without question as “Islam’s third holiest site” (a complete propaganda fairy tale), while it’s merely “known by Jews” as “Temple Mount.”
Arab-Americans carry signs and a replica of the al-Aqsa Mosque, Islams third holiest site and known by Jews as Temple Mount located in Jerusalem’s old city, during their annual ‘March for Jerusalem’ in Dearborn, Michigan, November 12, 2004. The annual march, known as Al-Quds Day, meaning ‘the holy’ the arabic name for Jerusalem, started 23 years ago to show solidarity with Palestinians on the last Friday of the Islamic month of Ramadan. Here’s another picture from the demonstration with a sign reading, “Israel is genocide under direct US guide.” I don’t recognize the person in the photo held by the young boy; is this a martyr I should know?
Some more signs: “The wall must fall, justice for all,” “(US) Generosity, Israeli Atrocity,” and “No more tax dollars for Israeli aggression.”
Meanwhile, over at Getty Images, we find more photographs of this demonstration that didn’t make it into the Yahoo galleries—including some in which the marchers are carrying pictures of Iran’s Ayatollah Khomeini: Getty Images Editorial - Image Results: Dearborn.
