Carnival of the Smear Job

A blog called the People’s Republic of Seabrook has posted something called The Carnival of the Vanities, #122. A statement on their site reads:

This website is best viewed with an open mind, an appreciation for Progressive ideals, and a healthy sense of humor. Lighten up, y’all!!

Then, to show what a light, perky sense of humor they have, they accuse LGF of “peddling hate speech,” based on a slobbery post from the left’s dumbest blogger, Oliver “Smirky” Willis:

Oliver Willis poses this question about Little Green Footballs: Ain’t They Amusing? Well, when you peddle what many define as hate speech, I’m not certain that amusing has anything to do with it.

Of course, not to be denied his two cents, Charles Johnson at Little Green Footballs counters with Radical Islam Wishes You A Happy MLK Day. Gee, I didn’t know they cared.

That was really humorous, how they smeared me for posting about a real, fact-based, disturbing case of a radical Islamic group coopting MLK Day. Apparently, just quoting the title (and it’s not even my title, but the title of Debbie Schlussel’s article) is all the proof they need for their light-hearted accusation. It wouldn’t do to actually read the article.

Compare Electricity Prices in your area. Texas Electricity is deregulated; you have the right to choose Texas Electric Rates from among many Texas Electric Companies.

Bizarre yet painfully humorous.

 Frank says:

There were 45 men in the jail cell, the toilet and shower had never been cleaned, the temperature was 110 degrees so you couldn't sleep night or day, there were roaches in the oatmeal, sadistic guards, and everything that was nice. -- Zappa 1969 interview. This had happened during the days of Studio Z in Cucamonga (1963). Frank was released on bail (his father took out a bank loan to pay for it). Frank had been busted for "conspiracy to commit pornography," after making a silly recording of suggestive sexual sounds (giggling edited out) for someone who had asked him to provide a "special" tape recording for a stag night. That someone turned out to be Detective Willis of the San Bernadino Vice Squad. Their conversation was recorded by a hidden microphone and this was used as evidence at Zappa's trial.
