Another Bombing in Beirut
Another subtle indication that Syria and Hizballah aren’t happy with the direction Lebanon is going: Five wounded in new bomb attack on Christian region near Beirut.
BEIRUT (AFP) - Five people were wounded in a bomb attack near the Lebanese capital, the fourth such strike on a Christian area in less than two weeks, police said, updating an earlier toll.
The latest attack came at 9:45 pm (1845 GMT) in an underground parking lot of the Rizk shopping and residential complex in the mountain resort of Brumana, 20 kilometres (13 miles) east of Beirut.
About a dozen cars were destroyed in the blast, which caused heavy material damage, television pictures showed.
The centre contains a branch of the Mediterranean Bank, owned by the family of former prime minister Rafiq Hariri who was killed in a bomb attack on February 14.
