Kevin Drum kicks off one of the ugliest comment threads I’ve ever seen at Washington Monthly, by telling Hugh Hewitt, Michelle Malkin, and Power Line to “STFU.”
Many of the commenters are like foul-mouthed, evil-tempered, malevolent children. LGF stalkers make an appearance, of course, trying to spread the rumor that we’re funded by some mysterious entity (Zionists? Rove? or could it be something much, much worse?). And then we have the calls from the ever-tolerant left to criminalize and shut down the opposition (and please note: this is a commenter, not Drum himself):
STOP THE HATE! WE NEED TO SHUT DOWN HATE FILLED FASCIST BLOGS LIKE MALKEN AND LGF. Hate speech is agains the law! The Internet is PUBLIC property! We need to shut down these hatemongers along with Bushco Rovian whores like Instanpundit. WRITE YOUR CONGRESSPERSON OR SENATOR TODAY! FAIR REGULATION OF THE INTERNET!
