The Ugly American Left, Part 2

I’m posting again about this nasty little discussion at Washington Monthly, because one of the commenters there is now using my name, pretending to be me. This is known as “namejacking” in the blogging business, and it’s the sort of thing that’s only done by those who’ve worked hard to earn the label “rotten scumbag.”

UPDATE at 4/8/05 1:29:22 pm:

And get a load of this one:

I have considerable knowledge of this Charles Johnson, the regular bloggers on his site, and their connections to longtime Republican operatives in Washington D.C. Iron Fist is not Charles #2 (He’s just some loser with delusions of criminality). That honor belongs to a shady Washington D.C. lawyer and Occasional Reader. He is a conduit between Charles and the RNC and Karl Rove. Another individual who goes by the charming nickname Dirk Diggler a Houstonian who has contacts through his family directly to the Bush clan and prominent wealthy Republicans.

At this point I am unable to say more (I am a freelance journalist with sources to protect) but rest assured when the time comes I will publish what I have found.

The explosion of rightwing weblogs and their new found “credibility” in light of the Rathergate fiasco is no accident.

Oh brother.

UPDATE at 4/8/05 1:47:41 pm:

Another winner:

Can someone look up the IP address of the Lizards and other far rightwingers who are posting here? Please post them if you can.

I want to find out where they live and work…pay them a visit. The only way to stop fascism is to confront it…To quote Malcom X…. “by any means necssary.”

UPDATE at 4/8/05 5:46:53 pm:

The ugliness is getting worse. At some point, one has to wonder why The Washington Monthly is allowing this outrageous parade of lunacy to continue. What do they think this does to their credibility?

 Frank says:

Throwing objects such as this are capable of damaging expensive musical equipment and musicians. Any more of this and there will be no more music. -- FZ, Autumn 1981 at Northrup auditorium in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After someone threw a plunger on stage about two-thirds of the way through the show, he stopped the band with a wave of his hand speaking in the general direction that the dangerous object was thrown, while holding it in his hand. This did not prove to be an amusing act and Franks mood hardened. - It was, however, an evening of excellent, serious musicianship around the release of 'Shut up and play your guitar'
