Father wants Islamic food served in school.

Ahmad Ghazoini, of Second Avenue, Acton, believes Berrymede Infant and Nursery School in Park Road North, Acton, should provide the option of halal meals for Muslim pupils as he believes 70 per cent of the school’s population belong to the Islamic faith.

Mr Ghazoini, who has a five-year-old son at the school, told the Times: “Muslims can only eat food and drink which is halal. This means only meat and poultry that has been slaughtered according to the Islamic methodology.

“The meat currently served at the school is incompatible for Muslim pupils to eat. This means they are forced to eat either vegetarian dishes or packed lunches. As a result the Muslim children receive an unbalanced diet and virtually no meat dishes whilst at school.”

Berrymede Infant and Nursery School say it will ask parents if they would like the school to change its meal provisions to accommodate their religious beliefs even though they have only had one request for halal meals.

Muslims to march over terror laws.

Thousands of Muslims are set to march through London and Blackburn in protest at anti-terror legislation.

The demonstrations have been organised by a number of organisations including Stop Political Terror and Islamic Human Rights Commission. Protesters are to voice their concern on a number of issues including prison detention at Guantanamo Bay and stop and search procedures. Both marches will take place on Saturday afternoon.

The first Muslim Unity march will start at Marble Arch at 1030 BST on Saturday and proceed to Paddington Green police station in west London.

Protesters up in Blackburn meanwhile will set off from Bangor Street at 1430 BST before moving into the city centre for a major demonstration against the area’s MP, Foreign Secretary Jack Straw.

Dr Adnan Siddiqui, an organiser of the London march, said: “This demonstration sends a clear message against the climate of fear that has been created by these draconian anti-terrorism laws and disproportionate arrests targeted at a community which has made a significant contribution to this society.

“Our community cannot afford to be silent in the face of the ‘war on terror’ and its domestic and international manifestations - we must stand together with strength and confidence to dispel the myths about Islam and the Muslim community.”

 Frank says:

And all the rest of whom for which to whensoever of partially indeterminate bio-chemical degredation. Seek the path to the sudsy yellow nozzle of their foaming nocturnal parametric digital whole-wheat inter-faith geo-thermal terpsichorean ejectamenta. -- From board tape at Zappa concert, outdoors, at Blossom Music Center, Akron, Ohio, summer 1984. This quote was in the middle of a spoken section of "The Mud Club" in which a dude walks into the club with a blue Mohawk and proceeds to "work the floor, work the wall, work the monitor system. . . ." The band was having monitor feedback problems at the Blossom concert, and there are numerous references to P.A. equipment throughout this ramble. Other than that, the quote is meaningless, I guess. But great imagery!
