Laura Bush Heckled at Islamic Holy Shrine.

JERUSALEM - Anti-U.S. protesters heckled Laura Bush at a major Islamic holy shrine on Sunday, during a Mideast tour meant to defuse growing anti-American sentiment in the region.

As she approached the gold-capped Dome of the Rock Mosque, Muslim worshippers shouted, “How dare you come in here, and why are you hassling our Muslims?” As she entered the holy site, located on the fault line of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, one man seethed, “None of you belongs in here.”

In case you missed it, this is a holy shrine. Full of angry people who scream at the First Lady of the US, and would no doubt have physically attacked her if not for security.

The simple descriptive term “Islamic shrine” isn’t sufficiently obsequious for the Associated Press, I guess.

The bassoon is one of my favorite instruments. It has the medieval aroma -- like the days when everything used to sound like that. Some people crave baseball -- I find this unfathomable -- but I can easily understand why a person could get excited about playing a bassoon.
