Former DePaul University instructor Thomas Klocek, fired because of complaints from Muslim student groups, has filed a defamation lawsuit against the school. (Hat tip: Mark.)

The 14-year part-time instructor hasn’t worked at the school since the September incident. Klocek and students from two Muslim groups say they got in a heated argument after he picked up a pro-Palestinian flier.

The students say Klocek shouted and threw papers at them. Klocek says he didn’t shout, throw papers or threaten anyone.

The lawsuit says school officials hurt his reputation by stating publicly that he had been belligerent and menacing to the students.

 Frank says:

Mr Zappa, I am astounded at the courtesy and soft voiced nature of the comments of my friend, the Senator from Tennessee. I can only say that I find your statement to be boorish, incredibly and insensitively insulting to the people who were here previously, that you could manage to give the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States a bad name, if I felt you had the slightest understanding of it, which I do not. -- - Senator Slade Gorton
