 RetweetKos Kidz Have Thin Skins

Tue, Jul 5, 2005 at 7:53:29 am PDT

Here’s something hilarious to start off the week, as the moronic, humor-impaired Daily Kos Kidz completely lose it over Iowahawk’s latest satire: The Latest in the New McCarthyism. (Hat tip: Soxblog.)

McCarthyism!

Armando writes, with touching sincerity:

F*cking pricks. You goosestepping McCarthyites.

Now go cry to momma. You yellow-bellied elephants.

Bwahahahaha!

UPDATE at 7/5/05 8:11:30 am:

And don’t miss Markos himself, defensively explaining in his characteristic leaden, error-filled prose: How the Islamic crazies are like the Right.

Religion in government

Al Qaida/Taliban: One and the same
American Taliban: One and the same
Liberals: Separation of church and state

Schools

Al Qaida/Taliban: Religious indoctrination. Run by clergy.
American Taliban: School prayer. Religious indoctrination (creationism and “intelligent design”). Private religious school system.
Liberals: Leave religious teachings to parents and sunday school.

Women

Al Qaida/Taliban: No school, must cover entire body, no rights
American Taliban: Government control over reproductive freedoms, hostility to Title IX, hostility to working women
Liberals: Equality of the sexes

Religious freedom

Al Qaida/Taliban: ‘Think like us, or we’ll whiip you and/or chop off your head’
American Taliban: ‘Think like us, or we’ll condemn you to hell’
Liberals: To each her own

Homosexuality

Al Qaida/Taliban: Eradicate them from society
American Taliban: Eradicate them from society
Liberals: Equality under the law

This ties in beautifully with Ted Rall’s latest eruption of bile: Karl Rove: Worse than Osama bin Laden.

UPDATE at 7/5/05 2:41:02 pm:

Markos Moulitsas Zuniga is #52 on Bernard Goldberg’s list of 100 People Who Are Screwing Up America : (and Al Franken Is #37).

Sorry to go OT. Hindu defense against Muslim aggression:

LUCKNOW, India -- Militants blew up a security wall with a car bomb and stormed a Hindu shrine at the heart of India's biggest religious controversy Tuesday, triggering a gunbattle in which security forces killed five attackers.

Police also found the torn body of a sixth man, who was believed to be the suicide bomber, said Jyoti Sinha, chief of the paramilitary force that guards the disputed Ram Janmbhoomi temple complex in the northern city of Ayodhya, a religious site claimed by both Hindus and Muslims.

The wreckage of a jeep that was used to blow up part of a wall of the high-security complex of one of Indias most revered Hindu religious sites lies on the road in Ayodhya, in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, Tuesday, July 5, 2005. Unidentified militants blew up a security wall with a car bomb and stormed one of Indias most revered Hindu religious sites Tuesday, setting off a fierce gunbattle with police and paramilitary forces that left all five attackers dead.

Hindu nationalists blamed Pakistan-based Muslim militants for the first major attack on a Hindu temple site since 2002. Police didn't blame any group.

Call me a parinoid conservative, but the choice of photo in my not-too-left-wing paper this morning was interesting.

It is of Bush in Philadelphia. It's taken from a low angle (think Michael Moores portrayal of Bush/Cheney) and Bush has his left arm out in a Nazi like salute.

I checked their website and didn't see the photo on there. Any other papers run this shot?

22 Powderfinger  Tue, Jul 5, 2005 6:06:38am

In my astonishment at Mr. Zuniga's latest "writings" I'm tempted to label this hero blogger of the Left as a simpleton or oaf. However, as I grow older I'm finding virtue in the dynamic of well-reasoned, polite debate. Therefore, I shall not stoop to name-calling, even though Kos' rants remind me of my tortured, teenage years, when colorful expletives served reflexively as a response to foreign ideas.

What is it about the enlightened Left sites that make them so quick to ban you? I got banned from that Cynthia McKinney(?) site after her tirade about the corpse desecration in Iraq, the burning bodies on the bridge.

She was in an uproar that they were contractors, and that this meant mercenaries - I think. Basically I let her know that I just returned from my brother's funeral, and that I'd be furious if someone was dragging his name thru the mud without knowing the facts for sure. Beyond that, were their deaths any less heinous for being paid to be there?

She said my comments "almost made it, but I lost it at the end". I think that crystalized it for me - some pompous halfwit that spreads half truths, with the power to block any dissent.

At least, that's the theory emanating from our nation's social work programs, as told to me by my spouse - now my ex-spouse.

59 Renna  Tue, Jul 5, 2005 6:26:16am

I occasionally visit a blog dedicated to the comics page in the newspaper. Mostly, they stick to mocking comics like Mary Worth or Apt 3-G but as the posters are mostly LLL, they tend towards politics now and again.

They had a "great" discussion the other day on why conservative comics just were not funny. They agreed Mallard Fillmore was never funny, and the writer just made cruel insults whereas they all found Doonesbury a riot. They also agreed it was because conservatives are humorless in general but also because most art students are liberal so the best artists were liberal or some other stunning logic.

Thought about piping up and explaining to them that humor usually is "funny because it is true" and they just don't see any flaws in themselves so they don't get it. Doesn't mean it isn't funny.

(P.S. They also really, really HATE it when any comic strip might profess a belief in God. One poster goes absolutely ape-shoot over just about every B.C. comic.)

60 Eagle  Tue, Jul 5, 2005 6:27:14am

I love it when on the news they say... "fundamentalists did some crazy shit" and then you have to figure out if they meant Christian fundamentalists or Islamic fundamentalists.

Well, as a secular atheistic type, I have to agree with this comment ... not at all.

I have seen stories of IslamoFascists doing some "some crazy shit" by chopping off heads. I have personally experienced Christian Fundamentalists doing "some crazy shit" by holding a bake sale for charity.

I hear that rule does not apply to women with conservative views, especially true for conservative women of color. See Rall / Condoleeza Rice cartoons for painful details.

Sure, that battle will last about as long as a Shannon Faulkner fitness video.

Pardon me, but who the (bleep) is Shannon Faulkner?

Shannon Faulkner was the first female cadet to The Citadel. Despite winning enrollment in court after 4 years, she chose to drop out a week later-- after one (1!) day of exercise during "hell week."

OT but fun. I was at a 4th of July parade yesterday. When local Democrats came by on a float, my public employee cousin cheered very loudly (she knows the rest of the family are Republicans).

The Dems threw out the frozen slushy/icey things in a tube. Very nice on a warm day. But those wackey Dems didn't bring a cooler along and it was just a warm sticky liquid. Totally melted.

My brother-in-law (Gulf War vet and Republican) just layed into them (jokingly did). It was pretty funny.

Shannon Faulkner made it through half a day of training before going on sick call for a few days then dropping out, she was in very poor physical condition.

Nancy Mace was the first female to actually graduate from the Citidel, To make it through a military academy one must be in decent physical shape, but more importantly have mental toughness and discipline; Mace had it all, Faulkner had none.

OT---I'm glad somebody else has noticed the way the MSM has been going after Hindus in the WoT, referring to any who oppose Islam as "militants" and portraying Moslems the victims whenever there are violent clashes between the two groups.

(Charles this might make a good thread sometime; the demonization of Hindus and others in various outposts of the WoT.)

It's not just Israel, not just America; I'm afraid the MSM is going to go after everybody who refuses to respect the ROP.
One can just imagine Teddy Rall doing a snide little cartoon about those awful blacks in Dafur, forcing innocent Moslems to invade and enslave them! (It will, of course, be Karl Rove's fault!)

Here's to Truth, Orwell! (none / 0)

I know you got lots of flame for that comment, but I'm with you on it. These right wing assholes play games with the lives of many thousands of others, all for money and power in Washington, and IMO it is time they get their due. If these right wing personalities were to get the bar-b-cue treatment that those mercenaries in Fallujah got, it could very well turn public opinion in America, which in turn could save thousands of lives both American and Iraqi. The religious right is destroying America by putting us on a path to a sort of neofascist theocracy, and anything that derails their agenda has got to be good on at least some level.

As long as it's Independence Day, we should remember that our nation was born in a blood bath. Jefferson was never afraid of being called a "King George hater."

This is the problem with Democrats; we are too nice, we are too careful about hating only the policies and not the politician, we quiver in our boots when media personalities call us "Bush Haters". Fuck that! I AM a Bush hater, I hate that man and everything he stands for, just as I hate Saddam and Stalin, and yes, Jefferson Davis and all the slave traders and owners he represented. It is good to hate evil.

I guarantee you that most of those republican activists out there HATE all of us, and in particular they hated Kerry and especially Dean. And in a society enveloped in a noxious smog of fear, hate wins. Democrats will keep losing if we don't learn to hate and DESTROY our enemies.

Now let's be clear, I'm not saying I want those right wing hacks to die on their vacation in Iraq, I'm saying I don't give a fuck if they die or not. But if they do die - Shadenfreude.

Truly, it warms my mean-spirited conservative heart to hear the champions of truth, love and overall NICENESS talk about how they want their political opponents to suffer the "Bar-b-cue" treatment, and how they are too "nice" (hyuk!) and how they must learn to "hate" and "DESTROY" their enemies!

Don't mean to be harsh but laughing this shit off is why Americans think Dems can't keep America safe.

Oh Armando! That's exactly it! First, take down Iowahawk. Then, Frank J. Eventually, you can work your way up to Denis Leary and Dennis Miller.

When you can show us that you're not afraid to take on funny people, then we'll let you have a shot at the killers. As long as we know you won't laugh when people are funny, we'll have full confidence in say...John Kerry, to keep America vigilant and protected.

First they laughed at the Islamofascists
I laughed too, because I was not an Islamofascist.
Then, they laughed at the leftists and

The religious right is destroying America by putting us on a path to a sort of neofascist theocracy, and anything that derails their agenda has got to be good on at least some level.

Question: Has this person ever even read the Bible, the source book for the evil religious right? Let's see, shall we?

This is the problem with Democrats; we are too nice, we are too careful about hating only the policies and not the politician.

Hmmm, this sounds kind of familiar . . . love the sinner, hate the sin? Not exactly biblical, but really, stealing phraseology from the "religious right" is what passes for creativity these days?

I guarantee you that most of those republican activists out there HATE all of us, and in particular they hated Kerry and especially Dean.

Yep, I'll bet that is right smack in the middle of Matthew - Jesus said: "Hate your neighbor as you hate yourself" and to "condemn your enemies to hell, so that blessing will be poured upon their heads". Hmm, somehow that isn't quite ringing a bell to me.

It is good to hate evil.

And defining what is "evil" is the sole province of the left, not that hate filled religious tome the religious right is always reading. Thus we get:

Fuck that! I AM a Bush hater, I hate that man and everything he stands for, just as I hate Saddam and Stalin, and yes, Jefferson Davis and all the slave traders and owners he represented.

Because Bush = Saddam = Stalin = Jefferson Davis (?) = Evil

Just like Jesus said, judge all who seem evil in your own mind and condemn them to hell, and verily, I will add unto you the blessings of a vegan diet, all natural products and a new earth whereupon the evil that is mankind will no longer be free to pillage the mother gaia.

Answer: Nope, they never read it.

120 Shiplord Kirel  Tue, Jul 5, 2005 8:28:51am

"American Taliban" has to be one of the most ludicrous examples of strained equivalence yet seen.

Christian Fundy: Condemns atheists to hell in print.
Islamo-Fundy: Condemns atheists to hanging in court.

Christian-Fundy: Knocks on your door to invite you to church ("go away, I'm an atheist")
Islamo-Fundy: Knocks down World Trade Center to invite you into the ummah.

Christian-Fundy: Agitates for creationism by arguing with proponents of evolution.
Islamo-Fundy: Agitates for creationism by killing proponents of evolution.

Christian-Fundy: Creates traffic jams around non-denominational churches.
Islamo-Fundy: Creates traffic jams around bombed buses.

Christian-Fundy: Opposes a "woman's right to choose"
Islamo-Fundy: Opposes a woman's right to read, drive, resist spousal abuse, own property, show face in public...

Christian-Fundy: Gains power through right to vote and speak.
Islamo-Fundy: Gains power through decapitation and terrorism.

Christian-Fundy: Missionaries preach gospel and pass out free food.
Islamo-Fundy: Missionaries preach hate and pass out free munitions.

I did find one point of equivalence, however:

Christian-Fundy: Misrepresented in media, (demonized)
Islamo-Fundy: Misrepresented in media (whitewashed)

Let's do another comparison

1) Iowahawk: a blogger on the Internet, writing satire for the amusement of people who take the time to find him. He has a modest following among conservatives and other conservative blogs. The MSM may,
or may not, be aware of him.

2) Dick Durbin: a powerful Senator from the state of Illinois. He is one of 100 Senators representing almost 300,000,000 Americans. Speaking on the floor of the Senate he compared American soldiers to nazis, Stalinists and the lunatic Khmer Rouge. His statements were widely reported on the MSM and foreign news services.

Kos and his fellow imbeciles cannot tell the difference in the status and power of the two men. Instead we see seething, almost hysterical, liberals threatening all sorts of physical violence towards "neo-cons".

Iowahawk, you're wonderful.

When I think of crazy Christian fundamentalists, I think of guys like Jack Chick, who draws those crazy little comic books you see at bus stations with angry atheists who go to hell, and ancient people riding dinosaurs (scroll halfway down) since the earth is only 6000 years old. These are probably the same crazies that the Kos Kids think about and obsess over.

Or perhaps I would think of the dude with 11 kids in Ft. Worth, Texas who has about 1000 Christian movie reviews on his site, who tallies up the number of swear words, naked statues, and other "offences to God" to give a numerical ranking of "holiness", and flies off the handle over gay people (he couldn't even sit through The Birdcage with Robin Williams due to all that offensive mincing around, I guess). His review of the South Park movie is also one of the better ones to check out.

Sure, fundamentalist Biblical literalists may seem crazy to us secularists, but are they moral equivalent to the head-choppers? Apparently the Kos Kidz are unable to distinguish the nuanced difference between the two.

AS a cranky, full-time gay, I have an opinion on Kos' "concern" for me: I don't want it, nor do I need it. I'm not always thrilled with the treatment of gays in the US, but it is a picnic here compared to nearly anywhere, but ESPECIALLY in the Muslim world. It is revolting and vile to compare Americans to the Taliban or AL-Qaeda (or Nazis, or Fascists). Kos, go peddle your "concern" somewhere else.

Taking the Moonbat outlook to the Natalee Holloway story even further, Natalee was never on Aruba, it was all a McBushitler conspiracy to distract us from quagmire his War for Halliburton has become. Think its just a coincidence that a TEXAS S&R outfit is looking for this non-existent girl? Rove pulls all the strings.

Good gravy, my head hurts from even attempting to parody these people.

Heres's the Kossies wishing for the rape of Karl Rove: [Link: www.dailykos.com...] They also seem to find homosexuality funny. Aren't they the ones who supposedly support gay people? Aren't they the ones who always talk about freedom of choice? What vile creatures they are. Sometimes I can't believe the person I used to be is saying this, but, Thank G-d the Republicans, and not the Democrats, are in charge.

More than a few lizards noticed that same "gay bashing humor" from the Kos kiddies.

Especially regarding Jeff Gannon.

I guess that it works the same as minority and woman bashing whenever the target is a conservative gay, minority or woman.

But say even the most innocuous statement about a member of these same groups who happen to be liberal...

147 TotallySirius  Tue, Jul 5, 2005 10:06:00am

Regarding Chales' update

What a steaming pile of moral relativism.

Who are these American Taliban?

Good comments. While all religions have their crazies (it's the nature of the human animal) where are all the shining luminaries of Islam, its saints and great thinkers, such as Thomas Aquinas or Dietrich Bonhoeffer? Or even its writers and poets, such as C.S. Lewis and Dante Alighieri?

Mohammed would have been thrown into prison, if he attempted his career in a civilized society today! Rumi---okay, but overrated in my opinion. Omar Khayam, ditto. The Arabian Nights was compiled by Englishman Richard Burton. Saladin? A fighter, not a thinker, philosopher or saint---and not the paragon of perfection he's usually portrayed as being (I suspect his physician, the brilliant, compassionate---and Jewish---Maimonides was actually the better of those two men.)

AS a cranky, full-time gay, I have an opinion on Kos' "concern" for me: I don't want it, nor do I need it.

Interesting you say that. I don't remember whether it was KOS or DU, but one of them was "correcting" the mistaken notion about the meaning of "dhimmi". According the the know-it-all, "dhimmi" means "protetected", ergo, dhimmis were paying for the military/police protection from the outside. Kinda like their little pet dhimmis.

Doesn't it seem like the demos have that same condescending attitude toward gays (and Blacks, Hispanics, Jews, etc)? They expect members of these groups to pay political tribute in exchange for protection. From something. Like the mafia.

150 Baldy  Tue, Jul 5, 2005 10:21:46am

#146 TotallySirius - Yes. Their treatment of anyone who is conservative & a minority nauseates me.
#149 Earth2moonbat - Yes. They tend to forget that in regards to gay people, the Democatic hero Bill Clintom is partly responsible for "Don't Ask...," and was against gay marriage, yet they blame Republicans for all things they consider anti-gay. The only concern Democrats have for minorities, is that they don't vote Republican. I feel especially bad for people like Secretary of State Rice & Justice Thomas. The things lefties say about them is beneath contempt.

I believe we call that extortion around here.

#150 baldy

Ever see a liberal homophobe? I believe that's impossible, just like it's impossible to be a minority racist. On the other hand, all anyone from the right needs to do is speak the word "gay" and it's an affront to humanity.

#151 Powderfinger - The Soviets weren't keen on gays, and I've known of many blacks who weren't either, and been physically attacked many times by probable lefties, who happened to be black, but I'm not sure if it was my being white or gay that they had a problem with. I know a bunch of liberal women who don't like men very much, and a bunch of minorities who hate Jews (sadly, an all-purpose hate).

I love the KosKidz! I also love people like Durbin, Kerry, Pelosi, Kennedy, various Hollywood idiotarians, Al Franken, Bill Mahar, Hillary Clinton, etc.!

Why?

They have helped me convince alot of my friends who were (like me at one time) moderate Democrats that all the sane people have left the Democratic Party. What is left is amounts to little more then foaming at the mouth anti-Americans, Marxists and tin foil hat wearers. They helped get at least 5 people I know who NEVER voted Republican to vote for GW Bush in 2004.

Keep up the good work KozKidz!

I've been meaning to post this for a few days but forgot. I had a dream the other night where DailyKOS wasn't just a blog but also a real place, a bar. I, for some reason only known to god, went in while wearing an LGF shirt. I started shouting "Censorship! Censorship!" A bunch of people joined in and then realized what was going on and then turned on me.

That's the last time that I get really drunk and read LGF immediately before going to bed.

That Kos thread was the funniest thing I've read in a while. I'm visualizing a score of pencil-armed, pasty little vegans pounding their scrawny chests and shrieking, "That is sooo not funny, wingnut!"

Like this hilarious character:

Just be a mean ass (none / 1)

street fighting mofo to all the wingnuts you encounter. Since they're so married to fear, make them fear that you will personally rip their heads off & piss down their throats.

My, I am so frightened. Yeah, right.

That display of bravado is immediately followed by a saying of mean ass's fellow street fighting mofo:

The concept of war is outdated. Dalai Lama

Yes, the Dalai Lama has frequently told his followers to rip off the heads and piss down the throats of people they disagree with politically.

Oh, no, wait,...,that was the Taliban.

Well, you can't say that mean ass does not have an appropriate nik. He is certainly mean and truly an ass.

DailyKos isn't a bar, it's a Co-op house! I lived there when I was 18. They threw me out because I was taking boxing lessons!

To put this in context: I am a 5'2", 110lb girl, every time I walked into the house carrying my gym bag, these five 'pacifists' (each one a guy about twice my size) would heckle me and generally get in my face, trying to make me feel guilty for getting a workout.

Finally, there was a big house meeting, and these guys said I was intimidating them by taking boxing lessons! Then, the house voted for their proposition stating that I either had to quit boxing or move out.

I got a nice little efficiency apartment.

I got valuable first hand experience in the totalitarian tendencies and extreme wimpyness of the LLL.

David Brooks spoke in our town on Sunday and referred to Markos as a Stalinist. I thought it was a pretty good description.

Iowahawk has a hilarious update to Stop questioning my patriotism by Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi: Stop Comparing Me to American Moonbats

Oh sure, the infidel progressives like to talk a good game. They’ll call you “freedom fighters” and “the resistance” and “Iraqi Minutemen.” But soon as you need some volunteers to take out a grade school full of collaborators, they’re like, “sorry dude, I’ve got to run off some International ANSWER fliers at Kinkos.”

ch3cooh (#156),

I had a dream the other night where DailyKOS wasn't just a blog but also a real place, a bar.

After hanging here it must have been like walking into a day care center for "special" children.

I, for some reason only known to god, went in while wearing an LGF shirt.

I know where you can order one of those.

The problem with some of these liberals is that they sit around all day reading those stupid jack chick comics, and try convincing themselves that Christians are really like that.

# 140

I don't want to put you on the spot, but it's amazing how so many liberals act like all conservatives are straight, white, anglo-saxon, christian and male.

We're just has diverse has liberals the only difference is we don't care about race, religion, sex, whatever. Liberals on the other hand, thats all they seem to care about. They are obsessed with race.

They believe in things like affimative action and afrocentric schools.

Conservatives on the other hand want everyone to be treated the same, and somehow that makes us bad.

One day I will eventually understand how the liberal mind works and write a book about it.

172 Sorge  Wed, Jul 6, 2005 5:33:43am

O.K., what's the deal with the moombats and violence? Every five comments or so, one of them had to mention how nobody would dare question his patriotism to his face, or how they should punch wingnuts in the face, or how wingnuts would not dare talk that way to the veterans among them (such as manly-man Kos--hah!), or whatever.

I'll have to start questioning their manhood, besides questioning their patriotism. I mean, why would they need to remind themselves what tough hombres they are, unless they are not hombres at all?

173 SunCat  Wed, Jul 6, 2005 8:50:21am

Guess that makes conservatives Liberals and leftist Taliban.

 Frank says:

You can tell what they think of our music by the places we are forced to play it in. This looks like a good spot for a livestock show. -- The Mothers of Invention were opening for Cream in April of 1968 in Chicago. The place was very large and did look like it had been used for displays of cattle and other such animals.
