They had a "great" discussion the other day on why conservative comics just were not funny. They agreed Mallard Fillmore was never funny, and the writer just made cruel insults whereas they all found Doonesbury a riot. They also agreed it was because conservatives are humorless in general but also because most art students are liberal so the best artists were liberal or some other stunning logic.

Thought about piping up and explaining to them that humor usually is "funny because it is true" and they just don't see any flaws in themselves so they don't get it. Doesn't mean it isn't funny.

(P.S. They also really, really HATE it when any comic strip might profess a belief in God. One poster goes absolutely ape-shoot over just about every B.C. comic.)

To put this in context: I am a 5'2", 110lb girl, every time I walked into the house carrying my gym bag, these five 'pacifists' (each one a guy about twice my size) would heckle me and generally get in my face, trying to make me feel guilty for getting a workout.

I don't want to put you on the spot, but it's amazing how so many liberals act like all conservatives are straight, white, anglo-saxon, christian and male.

We're just has diverse has liberals the only difference is we don't care about race, religion, sex, whatever. Liberals on the other hand, thats all they seem to care about. They are obsessed with race.

They believe in things like affimative action and afrocentric schools.

Conservatives on the other hand want everyone to be treated the same, and somehow that makes us bad.

O.K., what's the deal with the moombats and violence? Every five comments or so, one of them had to mention how nobody would dare question his patriotism to his face, or how they should punch wingnuts in the face, or how wingnuts would not dare talk that way to the veterans among them (such as manly-man Kos--hah!), or whatever.

I'll have to start questioning their manhood, besides questioning their patriotism. I mean, why would they need to remind themselves what tough hombres they are, unless they are not hombres at all?
