ASIR, 24 July 2005 — A father watching a Lebanese satellite TV channel saw his daughter’s name appear on the SMS line on a live interview with a Lebanese singer. The SMS contained words of love and admiration for the singer, Al-Madinah newspaper reported. The father searched his daughter’s cell phone and confirmed that it was she who was sending the messages to the website. He beat her up badly and the next day had a technician remove the Lebanese and music channels from his satellite channel list.
