Cycle of Violence: Portuguese Bend

Today’s ride: 53.5 miles, down the sun-drenched LA coast into Palos Verdes, where a light fog hovering around the peninsula kept the temperature just right for cycling. Held a good medium aerobic pace on PV Drive all the way to Portuguese Bend, the turnaround point for today. Stopped on the way back for a short rest and a half bottle of Gatorade at the Wayfarer’s Chapel. It’s been a while since I did that route, and I’d forgotten how much those rolling hills on the way north can hurt, especially when oppressed by the colonial hegemony of a fascist headwind, as I was today.

 Frank says:

Well Mike, I'm abnormal. -- When FZ appeared on the Mike Douglas show (solo, playing guitar with recorded backup), Mike said "Your latest album is called Zoot Allures. How do you come up with such names for your records?" (or something equally banal!) Frank's succinct reply is printed above.
