RetweetBehold: The Dreaded Cartoons of Blasphemy

Mon, Feb 20, 2006 at 8:37:52 am PST

It’s important that we all stand together with Denmark and refuse to let the purveyors of an intolerant ideology strip us of one of the West’s most fundamental principles, freedom of speech. Web site owners who post the Mohammed cartoons from Jyllands-Posten are being threatened if they don’t remove them, and US mainstream media have already surrendered to the intimidation, so there’s no help coming from that quarter. It’s pretty much up to blogs to push this issue and do what we do best—get the truth out and fact check their asses.

In that spirit, I’m reposting our link to an LGF slideshow of The Dreaded Cartoons of Blasphemy.

UPDATE at 2/20/06 9:02:09 am:

Here’s the kind of email LGF operative zombie is receiving: Mohammed Image Archive: Reader Email Responses.

I long ago gave up on what was formerly known as the mainstream press, so it is up to the blogs.

Go get 'em, guys and gals.

I've been posting them, among other things, on my blog. Not that you have to view it or anything...

And this is what kind of mail I've received from the Islamic world for putting The Dreaded Cartoons of Blasphemy on my Web site:

Somebody's got to do it. If the MainStreamMedia, who happily spout out "I disagree with what you say but will defend to the death your right to say it" take a pass when it matters, it is crucial that someone steps forward and does this. If only Dan Rather's well known "courage" extended to important issues (instead of fabricated documents).

Online Stores Are Caught In Jihad Web

One example is the 2002 explosion that killed more than 200 people at a nightclub in Bali, Indonesia. Computer security experts say Imam Samudra, the man behind the attack, financed it through credit card fraud.

Turmel's experience tells the "central story" of jihadi hackers, said Alan Paller, director of research at the SANS Institute, a cybersecurity firm based near Washington that works with the National Security Agency, financial institutions and governments around the world.

In a book Samudra wrote in jail, he "exhorts followers to 'learn to hack,'" Paller said.

The book continues, "Not just because it makes more money in three to six hours than a policeman makes in six months, because it is how we can bring America and its cronies to its knees."

30 Smit  Mon, Feb 20, 2006 6:58:37am

A newspaper in Denmark publishes cartoons of mohammad, so of course Muslims kill 16 Christians in Nigeria.

Nigeria cartoon protests kill 16

So how many people, Christian or Muslim have been killed now?

16 in Nigeria
10 in Libya
at leat 5 in Pakistan.

Over 30 dead is a high price to pay for a self-indulgent global hissy fit.

31 JammieWearingFool  Mon, Feb 20, 2006 6:59:09am

Charles, Zombie, John Schneider, and everyone who published the "blasphemous" cartoons of Mohammed...

The whole point is that the thuggery of the Islamists has reached our MSM who now caved to their threats. This means the ones who seek to overthrow our way of life are winning.. This is not like a TV show where things wrap up in a hour, the Muslims are famous for taking years, decades, even centuries to achieve their goal. It is a step by step process and the press is now sufficiently muzzled so that the process can continue.

So thank you for having the courage to print these cartoons. The cartoons, to us, are rather innocuous. What should shock people is the aftermath, the rush to not print them, the public "apologies," the acknowledgment that our MSM are cowards, and the realization that these people are willing to kill people for something as mundane as a cartoon, and they will continue to shut down our way of life, bit by bit, until we no longer exist.

Caulk one up for Freedom of Speech.

Just read the e-mails that Charles gets.

Christians: Bearers of Peace, Charity and Goodwill to Men.

Islam: Bearers of suicide bombers, hate and destruction.

When I read about the fatwahs and the imans/clerics calling for death and destruction, I can only think of islam as a religion that has be hijacked not by extremists, but by Satan himself.

Any muslims would like to comment on what they think is wrong with islam. I sure would like to hear from you.

I have a new "conspiracy theory". The L³ has launched a not-so-covert attack upon the English language, as we know it. Virtually all nouns, adjectives, pronouns and verbs are to be replaced with various nuances and tenses of "fuck". They have, in an idiot-savant sort of fashion discovered that once a culture loses it's native language, that culture will eventually become assimilated. Brilliant.

OT but fascinating: A group called HAMSA (Hands Across the Mideast Support Alliance) is sponsoring an essay contest on civil rights in the Middle East. It's open to people age 25 and under. There are two categories, one for U.S. entrants and one for entrants from the Middle East.

The good news: A group is promoting civil rights in the Middle East.

The surprising news: One of the "celebrity judges" is Gloria Steinem. This seems to be the first known case of an American feminist promoting the rights of women in the Islamic world.

The bad but unsurprising news: Entries are limited to residents of the U.S., Iran, and Arab League nations. In other words, not Israel.

Does anyone know more about this organization?

HAMSA (not Hamas)

We consider a used car salesman as less than honest. At their level of civilization it's a used cow salesman. (Plus the cow has probably been used for other than driving to work!)

Actually, I thought that was a Brokeback Mountain reference. "Used cow salesman" is the literal translation into Arabic of "cowboy." They heard about the "gay cowboy movie" and a new slang term was born on the madrassa playgrounds: "You are nothing but a used cow salesman!"

Normally when I want a credible news source on Sunday nights I turn to America's Funniest Home Videos, but last night I happened to catch 60 minutes and saw the segment "Rage in Denmark". The "reporter" mentioned that during MoToon Tour 2005 the "clerics" included some very offensive cartoons that were not originally published, including a cartoon of Mohammed with a pig's head. Now I am not a member of the Exempt media, but I thought it was pretty widely understood to be faked from a French hog calling contest. I went to the 60 minutes web site to check; unfortunately they don't have the whole segment available. I did notice that in the "reporters" notebook section Bob Simon mentions that the editor is a "quite a right-wing idealogue".

A few good books to check out on Middle ages are The Jew in the Medieval world. By Jacob R. Marcus.
there are some descriptions of Jews living in the Islamic world where Jews were Opressed people. Jews living in arab worlds are still opressed. With all of this Cartoonmania The bigger picture one can see is that Islam wants the rest of the world to Have a Dhimmi attituted and cow tow to Islam. Most of the comments that were listed stated that Islam respects all G_Ds If they respect all G_D's then how come they dont respect the people who stem from these G_D's. Hi I am an infequent poster to this site but a daily reader and very glad it exists.

I have posed this point before with little response.
What strikes me is that western society and its leaders are inept with dealing with the vicious and relentless attack from Islamic groups. Im not talking about the violent suicide bombings although that is part of it. What i mean is the many lobby grups i.e CAIR MCB etc who are gradually changing our laws and freedoms. And the point i am driving at is where are our groups to lobby against and counter lobby against these bodies.
There is obviously a groundswell of opinion (as highlhgted by the many excellent sites such as this and WesternResistance etc) which isnt being represented by our elected leaders or structures who espescially in the UK seem stuck firmly on appeasement.
Are there any U.S based or UK/Europe based organisations that anyone knows of?
All i can think of are the BNP and that isnt an option.
I understand that these blogs may represent peoples views and provide a forum but is there anything that actually develops that further?

Monday, February 20, 2006

JAKARTA: Demonstrators angry at depictions of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) attacked the US embassy in Jakarta on Sunday, beating on the gate with sticks and pelting the building with tomatoes, eggs and stones.

More than 200 white-clad members of Indonesia’s militant Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) were protesting over Danish cartoons lampooning the Prophet (pbuh) as well as his depiction in a sculpture at the US Supreme Court in Washington which shows him holding a Koran in one hand and a sword in the other.

Maksuni, an FPI deputy leader, told reporters after the protests: “This is not the last warning. This is only the beginning. There will be bigger actions against them.”

I dont really know about the 3rd decree of who Franklin Graham is but i do know that these fanatics arent as powerful as they think. In the UK at the moment they to an extent are getting their own way as society is letting them. People see the little things as not worth bothering for as they are indifferent to them. The more these "little" things are highlighted the less accepting to them people become. There is a change in opinion within mainstream society, it is becoming more defensive in its opinion but needs a body or organisation to harness this. The cartoons are an excellent way of opening the wests eyes, i just feel we need representation. There are many ways around any law, highlighted by the very fact CAIR et al use our own against us.

The press used to believe in freedom of speech, and having all the available information before making decisions, but they won't give me the information in this case.

I know I have read in the press that the cartoons are vulgar and insulting, but when I look at them, I see now that only a few that are insulting at all. I see far worse about Jesus and about Christians and Jews.

I wonder if President Clinton and all the other left wing (not liberal) pundits have even seen them. I can't believe they have.

Far Fucking Out!

Miller proudly announced the title of his next Batman book, which he will write, draw and ink. Holy Terror, Batman! is no joke. And Miller doesn't hold back on the true purpose of the book, calling it "a piece of prop[a]ganda," where 'Batman kicks al Qaeda's ass."

The reason for this work, Miller said, was "an explosion from my gut reaction of what's happening now." He can't stand entertainers who lack the moxy of their '40s counterparts who stood up to Hitler. Holy Terror is "a reminder to people who seem to have forgotten who we're up against."

It's been a long time since heroes were used in comics as pure propaganda. As Miller reminded, "Superman punched out Hitler. So did Captain America. That's one of the things they're there for."

"These are our folk heroes," Miller said. "It just seems silly to chase around the Riddler when you've got Al Qaeda out there."

This guy should get the Congressional Medal of Honor.

Yeah, a lot of people who are condemning the response to the cartoons nevertheless seem to feel some obligation to slam Jyllands-Posten for publishing them and to describe them as horribly offensive. OT - UN faults Israel for halt in funds to Palestinians

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - The U.N. envoy to the Middle East raised objections on Monday to Israel's decision to withhold tax funds from the cash-strapped Palestinian Authority after a Hamas-led parliament was sworn in.

Special Envoy Alvaro de Soto called the decision unhelpful and premature. Israel has long regarded the U.N. as a minor player in the Middle East peace process compared to the United States, which gave a low-key response to Israel's move.

Dear Mr. de Soto,

Last Sat. on Foxnews Watch, Neal Gabler (aka Neal Gobbler) did exactly that. He opined that since the Dutch paper was "conservative", the riots were understandable. Absolutely astounding. He obviously believes that freedom of the press is only for those he agrees with. And that the pedigree of the source of news legitimises the story itself. That was and shall be the last time I watch News Watch.

Government leaders of Western democracies are speaking with one voice on the cartoon jihad, and that is the voice of conciliation. I think what Western leaders are thinking is as follows. The cartoon jihad is a setup by our enemies. If we take the bait and start railing at them on a diplomatic level it will only make it harder for us to hold our gains in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Our enemies are those who we admittedly seek to destroy. Specifically AQ, the governmetns of Iran and Syria. It gets tricky here, but I do not think we can win this war without destroying the Government of Saudi Arabia. Yes, they control the mosques from which pour the propaganda against us.

I do not feel comfortable asking our soldiers to fight, kill and die while our own government includes the big "BUT" word in any statements about free press and free speech. On the other hand, even governments of free people must present a strategy. Remember what Churchill said when they asked him why he was being so chummy with Stalin.

If Hitler invaded hell I would make at least a favorable reference to the devil in the House of Commons.

For we the members of Western democracies, there is a separate struggle. We believe our basic Constitutional rights are given to us by God upon our birth into this world. While our leaders are protecting the men in the field, and while our so-called national press fails us left and right out of ideological confusion and cowardice, the least we can do is visit the blogs, click on the cartoons.

Could you explain this further? The American Muslims hate the ISCA because... they, the ISCA, fingered CAIR?

I mentioned the ISCA as an example of a truly moderate Muslim group to some American Muslims. The response was basically that Shaykh Hisham Kabbani is a traitor.

However, I should have said that I surmized one reason they hate the ISCA is that the ISCA fingered CAIR. They didn't really explain other than to suggest groups like CAIR and MSA are genuinely defending the rights of American Muslims, while the despised ISCA supports Pres. Bush. I suspect there was some taqiyya and evasion going on, as usual.

This reaction reminded me of how many Muslims respond to the suggestion that Turkey is one of the most democratic and moderate Muslim countries. They see it just the opposite: Turkey prohibits (or prohibited -- not sure they still do) wearing of Islamic garb in government buildings and universities. They saw this as evidence that Turkey is much more oppressive than countries such as Saudi Arabia and Iran.

guardian claims: Iranian minister calls for end to cartoon violence
Laura Smith and agencies Monday February 20, 2006

The Iranian foreign minister today called for an end to violent demonstrations over cartoons of the prophet Muhammad.

Manouchehr Mottaki made his appeal after protesters in Afghanistan and Indonesia burned Danish and US flags.

He said freedom of expression must be exercised with sensitivity and respect for other people's values and beliefs, and called on European governments and newspapers to take steps to prevent the cartoons from being published again.

"We should try to cool down the situation," he said. "We do not support any violence. We are all working, and we hope the press also will try to play their role and [take] their responsibility."

OMG...The UAE wants to work with ME! LOL Gotta love these...I'm just SOOO tempted!

Greetings from Dubai,
This letter must come to you as a big surprise, but I believe it is only a day that people meet and become great friends and business partners. I am Mr. Ali Raza Khan, currently Head of Coporate affairs with a reputable bank here in U. A. E. I write you this proposal in good faith, believing that I can trust you with the information I am about to reveal to you.

I have an urgent and very confidential business proposition for you. On November 6, 2000, an Iraqi Foreign Oil consultant/contractor with the CHEVRON PETROLEUM CORPORATION, MR. KHALIL AL NASSER made a (Fixed deposit) for 36 calendar months, valued at US$17,500,000.00 (Seventeen Million Five hundred Thousand Dollars only) in my bank and I happen to be his account officer before I was moved to my present position recently. Upon maturity in 2003, as his account officer and as well the bank manger, it is my duty to notify him on the maturity date so I sent a routine notification to his forwarding address but the letter was returned undelivered.

After sometime, I tried sending back the letter, but it was again returned and finally I discovered from his contract employers, Chevron Petroleum Corporation that Mr. Khalil Al Nasser died as a result of torture in the hand of
Saddam Hussein (former Iraqi President) during one of his trips to his country Iraq, as he was accused of leaking information to the Americans. On further investigation, I
discovered that Mr. Al Nasser’s family wife and two sons died during the Gulf War in Iraq and was the reason why he did not declare any next of kin or relation in all his official documents, including his Bank Deposit paperwork in my Bank and did
not leave any WILL. This sum of US$17,500,000.00 have been floating and placed under dormant/unserviceable account by my bank management since no one have heard from the owner since 2003. I wish to let you know that all the investigation I have made so
far, my bank management is not aware of it, I am the only one that have the information.

With the recent change of government in my country and with their efforts to support the United Nations in checkmating terrorism aid in the U. A. E. By end of this year,
the government will pass a new financial control law which will give the government authority to interrogate account owners of above $5,000,000.00 to explain the source of the funds, making sure it is not for terrorism support. If I do not move this money out of the country immediately, by end of the year the government will definitely confiscate the money, because my bank cannot provide the account owner to explain the source of the money.

I cannot directly transfer out this money without the help of a foreigner and that is why I am contacting you for an assistance. As the Account Officer to late Al Nasser, coupled with my present position and status in the bank as Head of Retail Banking Groug , I have the power to influence the release of the funds to any foreigner that comes up as the next of kin to the account, with the correct information concerning the account, which I shall give you. All documents to enable you claim this fund will be carefully worked out and there is practically no risk involved, the transaction will be executed under a legitimate arrangement that will protect you from any breach of law, beside U. A. E is porous and anything goes.

If you accept to work with me, I want you to state how you wish us to share the funds in percentage, so that both parties will be satisfied. If you are interested, contact
me as soon as you receive this message so we can go over the details. Thanking you in advance and may God bless you. Please, treat with utmost confidentiality. I shall send you copy of the deposit certificate issued to Al Nasser when the deposit was made for your perusal.
I wait your urgent response.

Regards

Good question for the deep thinkers, and or stoners:

Is Mohammad in Hell?

Just reading that Big Mo's Koranic verses were preceded by what appears to be an epileptic type seizure, and he apparently experienced vivid hallucinations. So was Mohammad whacky enough for the insanity defense, or did all the lying, child molestation, rape and robbery indeed place him in an advanced circle of hell where devils do rip him open and expose his entrails?

Of course, if I were to get Biblical about it, it would seem possible that Mohammad was possessed by an evil spirit, perhaps even The Evil Spirit.

OT -sort of-Hamas victory sparks terrorist activity
Feb. 20, 2006 0:09 Updated Feb. 20, 2006 5:23

A security official told The Jerusalem Post that the Hamas takeover of the PA has motivated Islamic Jihad to become the vanguard of the Palestinian struggle by escalating its terror activity. "Islamic Jihad sees the possibility that Hamas will decrease its terror activity as an opportunity to take over and lead the fight against Israel."

Discerning the new terror wave, the IDF stepped up its activity in the West Bank and Gaza on Sunday and launched a widespread operation in the Balata refugee camp in Nablus aimed at cracking the local terror infrastructure.

the old bait and switch, may the IDF's aim be true and Israel's resolve never die...

I agree, there's a desperate need - especially in the UK and Europe - for an organisation to combat muslim deception and infiltration.

An organisation that would attract people from acoss the religious/racial spectrum: Christians, Jews, Hindus, Sikhs. atheists, gays etc. Something that isn't automatically tagged (and dismissed) 'right wing'!

The United British Alliance (UBA), which attracts mainly patriotic football fans, is worth supporting but there needs to be a more sophisticated organisation that can get some media credibility.

Some amazing facts about Turkey:

* Students and employees not allowed to wear religious garb at universities, hotels, and government buildings

* Turkey conducts joint military exercizes with Israel and is one of the Israeli defense industry's best customers.

* Large and thriving Jewish community.

* When Arafat visited Turkey several years ago, the Turkish press grilled him about the morality of suicide bombings. An embarrassed Arafat retreated.

* After a devastating earthquake in 1999, Israel sent emergency rescue and medical teams to Turkey. Grateful villagers gave their babies names such as "Israel" and "Ziona."

Some of this may have changed since Turkish elections put a Muslim party in power.

Going to New York Comic Con? Support Denmark and get a free sketch from cartoonist Colleen Doran:

Hey, are you going to be at the New York Comic Con next week?

Cool!

For every person that brings a Danish Flag, button, or any product of Denmark, including a book or newspaper, I will give you a free head sketch and donate $1 to the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. Don’t expect fancy sketches, it’s a short weekend.

You don’t have to give me your Danish trade goods, just show Denmark some love, and I’ll show you some love, by giving you a precious pearl of a doodle (no pictures of Mohammed, please - do not ask for the Legion of Superheroes, either), and I’ll put a tip in the CBLDF’s jar.

And yes, I know the difference between the Swedish flag and the Danish flag.

If you insist on giving me Danish chocolate, I won’t object.

Man Gets Three Years in Holocaust Denial
By VERONIKA OLEKSYN (Associated Press Writer)
From Associated Press
February 20, 2006 12:44 PM EST
VIENNA, Austria - Right-wing British historian David Irving pleaded guilty Monday to charges of denying the Holocaust and was sentenced to three years in prison after conceding he was wrong to say there were no Nazi gas chambers at the Auschwitz concentration camp.

Irving, handcuffed and wearing a navy blue suit, arrived in court carrying a copy of one of his most controversial books - "Hitler's War," which challenges the extent of the Holocaust.

Exactly. Well said.

Outta my mind on a Monday...Still have no access from home over the weekend. Along with what I've written before, this weekend I tried everything I could think of.
I can ping LGF, resolves to IP 128.177.180.45
I can trace route on Littlegreenfootballs, after about 15 hops it lands at [Link: www.littlegreenfootballs.com...]
I have added an entry to my 'host' file, 128.177.180.45 [Link: www.littlegreenfootballs.com...]
I have flushed the DNS.
I went to a 3rd party DNS resolver site and it found the same IP for LGF.
There are no filters or blocks applied on any of the 4 PC's or my router/gateway.
There was an incoming request in my router where IP Address was accessing port 1502.

So I have a website I cannot reach from my wowway account but can reach from GM/EDS network(and elsewhere). It cannot be reached from 4 different PC's running 3 different OS's. I don't think Holocaust denial, alone, should be a crime.

HOWEVER, Holocaust denial often linked up with solicitation of genocide, a-gain, of the Jews, infidels, polytheists, idolaters, homosexuals, distributors of blasphemous cartoons, etc...

I never thought studying the medieval Scholastics would have relevance to today's world moreso than any other discipline.

Guess what, "West"?

We've been down this road before, but not when images could be downloaded around the entire globe in an instant.

Speech laws are doomed to fail and be abused, every, single, time.

However, when the speech is solicitation, attempt or another incohate* offense, criminal investigation is appropriate (Abu Hamza comes to mind: NBC suits for Allah?).

BREAKING NEWS: Siege update: one escapes; UAV crashes - Monday, February 20, 2006 @ 2:43:50 PM

This is a second real time report from the siege at the Balata refugee camp near Nablus on the West Bank (aka Occupied Palestine) where the IDF has located two major leaders of Al Aqsa in the last hours.

Most recently someone from inside has managed an escape from the siege point: identity of the escaped suspect is unknown.

Also, most recently, an IDF UAV being used to monitor the siege site has crashed near Nablus, reportedly on the home of a Palestinian journalist. The IDF is in pursuit of the wreck. However it is reported and confirmed that Palestinian civilians have found the contents of the drone, including film and/or recording devices, and they are attempting to get the contents to the Al Aqsa Martyr's Brigade.

Meanwhile, the siege continues. It may be reaching a climax soon. The IDF is censoring battlefield reports: all details need confirmation, and as of yet it is impossible to confirm anything but general statements.

This is the fog of war in the dark in enemy territory up against the toughest hombres on the West Bank at a distance of seven thousand air miles via my source and his mobile phone sources when they turn their phones on (some are wanted men). Bumpy ride.

More soon, and a general recap and overview (UAV call your office) on my show later.

Spare Change to run Danish cartoon

By Sarah Andrews/ Chronicle Staff Thursday, February 16, 2006 - Updated: 07:27 AM EST

"As most people know, we advocate for social justice," he said. "And protection of free speech is social justice. All people should have it and people shouldn’t lose it out of fear."

Spare Change has five employees, several volunteer reporters, 150 homeless or low-income street vendors and nine board members. Scott said the decision to run the cartoon in Thursday’s paper was made by himself, the paper’s managing editor, Paul Rice, and two board members, and that all vendors and employees were notified and agreed to support the paper’s mission.

"We made sure all parties were taken into consideration," he said.

For weeks now, Muslims across the world have protested a Danish paper’s October printing of several editorial cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad. The violent riots have led to death in some cases, and Muslims have threatened retribution to any media outlet who reprints the cartoons.

LGF, Zombie, and a little Homeless Advocacy Newspaper publish the cartoons while major american media is still cowering in the corner...

I'm sorry, but Frank Miller has lost his damn mind. I thought his Dark Knight Strikes Again was possibly the worst thing he could have written.

Of course, then I ran into his All-Star Batman and Robin series. This series is written in the WORST NOIR STYLE I HAVE EVER SEEN. And that says a lot. It has hackneyed dialogue, improbable situations (yes, improbable even for a comic book) and the Batman in the storyline is the biggest bastard imaginable. It is so bad, I spent the first two issues laughing until my jaw hurt.

I hope Frank finds his brain before he writes Holy Terror, and doesn't job Batman into finding Osama in five minutes.

Real time siege of Al Aqsa chiefs - Monday, February 20, 2006 @ 1:38:35 PM

This is a real time report of a siege underway at Balata refugee camp near Nablus on the West Bank (aka Occupied Palestine).

The IDF and agents have surrounded a dwelling and settled down to a stand-off. Surrender or collapse or death are the options. Inside the dwelling are two critical Al Aqsa Martyr's Brigade leaders on the West Bank. First is the Nablus leader, Ala Senakreh. The second is Abu Aziz, who is deputy commander of Al Aqsa on the West Bank and a major league bad guy.

I spoke with Abu Aziz at Nablus on his mobile phone last Monday, 13 February, along with my correspondent in Jerusalem. Abu Aziz, in measured Arabic, low, clear, confident, commanding speaking voice, described an imminent Third Intifadeh, to be led by Al Aqsa and Islamic Jihad from the West Bank. It will include suicide belts in waves and also rockets against Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, (In the last three weeks, the IDF has intercepted 12 belts sent by Abu Aziz, who is responsible for the last three attacks that got through the defenses). Abu Aziz said he was not loyal to Abbas or the now Hamas-controlled PA parliament. Abu Aziz said he had plenty of ops, weapons, explosives, money to launch a sustaining and devastating offensive.

The IDF moving aggressively against Al Aqsa means the Third Intifadeh launch date will change; it may move up. There is evidence that the funds are now coming from Tehran, as this will be a coordinated series of attacks by Al Aqsa, Islamic Jihad and (in disguise) HizbAllah. Hamas will claim it is not involved; yet Hamas will do nothing to stop the attacks.

I spoke to an IDF general officer (ret) last week, who said this will not be an intifadeh, it will be a war.

I will update the siege when I got more detail. Recall that the West Bank is seven hours ahead of the East Coast; it is full dark now; the optimum time for special operations is after 2 -3 am.

Angry protesters retort, however, that they are deliberately offering ham sandwiches and soup made of pork to discriminate against Muslims and Jews who cannot eat the meat for religious reasons.

Somehow I suspect there are not a lot of Jews amongst the "jobless youths" who depend upon the soup kitchens in Paris.

The groups behind the soup kitchens are not formally linked, but they are associated with an ultra Right-wing organisation called Bloc Identitaire.

The arrival of Eurabia (dining with Bat Ye-or)...
Eurabia Scholars Gather in The Hague

Bat Ye’or convincingle argues that the transformation of Europe into Eurabia is the result of a deliberate strategy that was foolishly set in motion by French Gaullists who wanted to create a European-Arab counterweight to the United States. Today the European Union is continuing this policy...

Europeans are fast becoming second class citizens in their own countries. It is tempting to flee a continent that has already to a large extent become Eurabia, and hide in the relative safety of the United States. However, Europeans should stay put and resist the attempts to turn Europe into dhimmi-land. “It is possible that some Muslims are offended by the Danish cartoons,” says Daniel Pipes. “Nevertheless, all the media should have published them. While the Rushdie affair was about freedom of speech, because it was an intra-Muslim affair, the cartoon affair is about the defense of the identity of the West and whether we allow them to impose their values on our society.”

Woo-Hoo Zombie old Pal. To get this kind of Fan mail... You are absolutely having a very positive impact on the world

You go Zombie. !*!

And be sure to update your site to let them Know you now run a website because the place where you were a stripper (and college professor) went out of business because it Unionized, and the owners couldn't afford proper security for the dancers against Moo-ham-i-Duh-ans, AKA wood(y)-be airline highjackers out for their last night on the town, just getting an eyeful of the 72 Virginians ahead...oh, ? Moo-ham-id is fresh out of Virginians ? Too bad...for them.

Dang Zombie, I think you've done it. You can qualify for a concealed carry permit now. Ask Rayra to help you apply. Also I think you could get a permit for one of these little numbers.

You also can Enlist these kids to convert your House's yard into a sort of "play area" for neighborhood Pitbulls and Giant Mastiffs, the kind that eat raw meat only,(when they can get it).

Keep up the good work 'ol pal.

And if you need retreat to "lay Low" for a while, Just over the hill in LaMorInda the welcome mat's always out at the Havoc rez-i-dence, here at "Rancho Costa-Plenty".

Not only is the neighborhood filled with edgy gun owners (like me) it also has Vicious dogs aplenty, (I'd like to throw some of your [bigoted word] e-mailers over my back fence to meet my next door neighbors dogs Psycho & Trixie, the Dobermans.

And Zombie, If you really are a Stripper,
my good neighbor across the street is single, dark, handsome, available, a mid level real estate tycoon, a BIKER and has 15 guns in his gun safe (I am green with envy over his Binelli Shotguns, and his 1911A .45 pistolas) you two would become fast friends I'm sure, ... and maybe more. !?!

You know, I think I can get you These Girls, as body guards, they're on really good terms with Sonny Barger and his "Associates". Goth Girl used to have the classical piano gig at Spear Towers, we're acquainted, she gave my son a couple of jazz lessons, (strictly music, that's all) Hey, maybe I should introduce her to Charles, they might hit it off.

I'm thinking "nadal a." might be an imam.

His letter has form. 1) open with praise and statement of submission, 2) state thesis, 3) patronize non-Muslims, 4) rehearse the usual fallacies, quote the Koran as indisputable authority, and 5) patronize non-Muslims, urging them to submit to Islamic superiority.

Given the sub-literacy of the other responses, you can begin to well imagine how "Islam" was the creation of a few literate scribes, not the verbatim rants of Mu himself.

In fact, stringing together two sentences of coherent Arabic probably struck Mu as the real miracle.

They've been told to go to the bases and thunder at the military. They wouldn't know a Motoon from any other drawing. The imams have filled their empty little heads with stuff.

Coulter was right! We should get the imams. They're the cause of the trouble. Maybe we should raid Saudi Arabia first and take out the imams, take over the oil, take back the US bases there and stop them from exporting their Wahhabist evil anymore.

Zombie

...For you to do so at such a time as this, well - your folks must be so proud.

My "folks" -- family, friends, parents, colleagues, etc. -- know nothing about my online persona. As far as they know, I'm still the same ol' LLL I've always been (and which they all are). And if they ever did find out I was "zombie," being proud would be the LAST thing they'd feel. Most of them would probably never speak to me again.

You saw the need, the opportunity , and you responded to both with eloquence and courage.

C'mon people, I'm not special! I put together the first version of the Archive in freakin' 90 minutes! My technical skills are minimal, my personal bravery nonexistent. I just do stuff. You all could do it too. If there's anything I want to arise as a result of this, it's that I serve as an example that any random person can and should make a difference.

389 undhimmable  Mon, Feb 20, 2006 11:11:07am

WTF? Have I fallen into some bizarro parellel universe or something? Who'da thunk it possible that some freaking CARTOONS would spark the flame that would set the [bigoted word] world on fire? It's like a low budget movie script. When do the killer tomatoes attack? Or the martians?

Guess this is the result of the west trying to be fair and handing the oil wells over to the camel jockeys. Now they have enough money to prop up an ancient failed paradigm and shove it down our throats.

Correction:

Though I know nothing about Islam, and don't know Arabic, I do know the "fatwa" against Rushdie is actually one which goes beyond the life of the ayatollah who wrote it, and therefore is technically not a "fatwa" but another kind of Islamic contract killing.

392 NY Nana  Mon, Feb 20, 2006 11:15:18am

I am an Elite! I made the original first list of the Cabal! Is Jheka ever going to have his hands full!

On topic: In defence of the Western Standard

Last week, the Calgary-based Western Standard newsmagazine published eight of the 12 Danish cartoons that allegedly blaspheme the Muslim prophet Muhammad. Some Muslim groups responded by demanding the magazine be charged with hate crimes, and by applying to have its senior staff hauled before the Alberta Human Rights Commission. In the interest of protecting freedom of expression, both Alberta's Department of Justice and the province's rights investigators must reject these demands summarily.

We have disagreed with the Standard over the need to reprint the cartoons that first appeared last September in Copenhagen's Jyllands-Posten newspaper. But the magazine's decision was certainly defensible: Its publisher and editor argued the best way for their readers to place the images in context was actually to see them.

Canadian readers would find most of the cartoons -- which are widely available on the Web -- unremarkable. Even the ones that depict Muhammad unsympathetically are no worse than hundreds that have, over the decades, belittled Christ or the Virgin Mary. A couple are downright clever: One has Muhammad standing on a cloud waving his arms at arriving suicide bombers proclaiming, "Stop. Stop. We ran out of virgins." Another shows him assuaging furious palace guards with the words "Relax, folks. It's just a drawing made by a Dane in south-west Denmark."

But even if all 12 were flattering renditions, many doctrinaire Muslims would still be upset. And that is one of the Standard's points: It is dangerous to let a subset of society dictate what can and can't be published. As editor Kevin Libin wrote in the cartoon issue, "There are all kinds of thing in Islam that ... are considered offensive: homosexuality and women appearing in public with their legs uncovered." Are Westerners to submit to these beliefs, too?

Syed Soharwardy of the Islamic Supreme Council of Canada, who launched the human rights complaint against the magazine, claims he has received hundreds of e-mails since the cartoons were published in Calgary, most of which have been supportive or at least respectful. But nine have been "hateful," he says. So he claims the magazine has promoted legally actionable hatred toward Muslims.

But of course, the mere fact that some bigots have used the cartoon brouhaha as a pretext for mailing in their hateful ramblings does not mean the Western Standard has promoted hate -- much less, that the cartoons were published with the intent of promoting hatred, which should be the more important criterion at law.

If the legal actions against the Standard are successful, it will send a dangerous message: that any group in society can use mechanisms of government to censor views it disagrees with. The result would be a media environment that is timid and bland. Even those who disagree with the Standard's editorial stance should support it in its campaign to uphold the principle of free speech.

Charles had a post about this problem on the 19th. didn't go through the comments but maybe some could be of use to you.

Several readers have contacted me to say they’re having trouble connecting to LGF recently; they get an error saying “the document contains no data,” or a connection failure. Often they’re able to connect from the work computer, but not from home (or vice versa).

In all the cases where people have provided me with their IP addresses, I’ve checked our htaccess file and they’re not being blocked. I’ve also contacted Hosting Matters, and they assured me there’s no blocking going on from their side either. It’s probably some lingering DNS weirdness from our recent server move; some ISPs are very clingy with their DNS caches. If you’re experiencing this problem you may need to contact your ISP and ask them to update their freakin’ DNS caches, please.

If you know how to edit your “hosts” file (on Mac OS X, it’s located at /etc/hosts), adding the following line to the file should solve the problem. (There’s also a way to add this to the hosts file on a Windows box, but I’m embarrassed to admit I don’t know what it is.)

128.177.180.45 littlegreenfootballs.com

You could also try flushing your computer’s internal DNS cache; on Mac OS X you can do this by opening the Terminal application (in Applications/Utilities) and issuing the following command:

lookupd -flushcache

In Windows XP you can do a similar operation with: "Start -> Run -> ipconfig /flushdns".

Recently installed routers and firewalls can also cause problems; it’s a good idea to try temporarily bypassing or turning off firewalls and see if the problem goes away

Cartoons - the gift that keeps on giving

Shameless Repost:

What brings Abdullah to the street?
I'd really like to know
Beheadings? Bombings? Other feats?
What makes Abdullah show?

Was he in Trafalgar on 8 July?
Did he show he was concerned?
Did he carry a sign supporting peace
When the French suburbs were burned?

Where are the pictures of his Beslan rage?
Did I miss that in the news?
What sympathies did he extend
To the families of the Sbarro Jews?

You tell me that he did not come
To protest brutal death
The sacrifice of innocents
Was just not worth his breath

But he rages at a drawing
Of a prophet he holds dear
He gathers throngs around him
And urges death so all can hear

What has this old world come to
When a picture means much more
Than the truly evil tragedies
That all should just abhor?

I just sent this out to a hundred fifty contacts on my own email list. I have never done this before. But I just could not resist using these images. This whole Blasphemous Cartoon story sort of crystallizes the huge gulf between the West and Islam. And it does a pretty good job of showing where the American MSM stands too. I live in Cleveland so I used Doug Clifton as an example. But you can find one for your hometown too.

We need to get these images into people mail boxes. Send this out to your email list. Hell, just put your name in and add the links if you want. You can find a picture of the Serrano work by going to Google images and typing “piss christ”. It only takes a few minutes.

Be sure to test the links before you send it.

---

Everyone,

I still cannot believe these images are not all over our television screens. Some people half way around the world want to kill us over these cartoons and most of our media does not have the courage to publish them.

The editor of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Douglas Clifton, recently defended his decision not to publish these cartoons because in his opinion “words do them justice”. In the same interview, he defended his decision to publish a picture of a crucifix in a jar of urine because the words “crucifix in a jar of urine” do not quite tell you the whole story. I have included links to both. When you click on them, which images were more fully described by the words?

But my point is not to show the hypocrisy of the guys like Douglas Clifton. It’s to contrast how Muslim radicals and those of us in the West react to personal and even religious insult.

Muslim radical reactions to the Muhammad cartoons have included:

- Thousands of people have rioted and perhaps over 100 have died so far
- In Pakistan at Friday prayers a US$ 1,000,000 bounty was placed on the heads of the cartoonists
- In Iran at Friday prayers an Imam closely tied to the government issued a Fatwa saying the Koran allows for the use of nuclear weapons against the enemies of the Prophet
- Several Danish embassies have been burned
- Several Danish embassies have been closed
- Saudi Arabia and Syria have recalled their Ambassadors to Denmark

To the best of my recollection, reaction back in 1989 to Andres Serrano’s “Piss Christ” work did not include burnt buildings and bounties. In fact, the debate revolved around whether the National Endowment for the Arts should fund such offensive artwork. The people like Clifton who now refuse to publish these cartoons called cutting off government grants a form of censorship back then.

To really understand how out of touch we in the West are with Muslim radicals, you have to see the cartoons. Or maybe to make an apples to apples comparison, I should disassemble Serrano’s “Piss Christ”, and replace the Crucifix with a copy of the Koran and gauge the reaction. Since I don’t have time to apply for an NEA grant and my family does not want to live a witness protection program existence, this email will have to do.

Please pass this email around. The people who are rioting over these images have almost total control of a region where we get 35 to 40 percent of our oil. It’s pretty important to understand them.

OK, I don't want to nuke the Middle East and I don't want to deport all members of any particular religion.

However, I would not go as far as to say I would never consider use of nukes in the war against Islamism.

Nor would I rule out emergency measures to combat the Islamist fifth column, some of which could inconvenience or even violate the rights of truly moderate American Muslims on a limited, temporary basis.

Do I qualify or disqualify?

Here's a partial excerpt from an ESL student's "your choice" essay. He chose to write about the cartoons (written last week):

What hapened has made the world realize how strong the muslim people are when someody miss with their beliefes. If people lose their respect to the beliefes of each other, fights will happen. Muslim people prooved that they can be strong when problems happen to them. They cut all the relations with the countries that didn't respect them. That what should've happened from along time with anyone miss with their beliefes to not make any other countries think that they are weak. I believe that there is more reaction from them is coming. It is just a start.

Somebody forgot to tell him that respect is a two way street. I think I will.

I'm trying to think of "how can ordinary folks do something to fight this world-wide war against violent fascism"? So far, this is the best I've come up with:

1. Set up some web servers where ordinary Joes and Janes are free to speak their minds. Servers and site hosts which are well-suited to the task (e.g., high-capacity, high-security).

2. Publicize the words and ideas of Muslims who aren't violent fascists. We must make it clear that we are friends of Muslims who accept our social values of freedom and democracy. We are at war with violent Islamofascism.

3. Save gas. It seems to me that a big part of the problem with Islamofascism, most of which has emminated from the Middle East, is the flood of money flowing into those Islamic countries, without them having to lift a finger for it. They're like the spoiled child who's never worked a day in his life, screaming at how terrible everyone else is, while in reality, he's a little monster. Some possible strategies for saving gas:

A) Buy a more fuel-efficient car.
B) Buy a "Flex-fuel" vehicle, which allows you to drive on E-85 Ethanol, and/or gasoline (all in the same tank). There's a big push to get more E85 stations, and a lot of cars today can be purchased with flex fuel engines for minimal extra cost.
C) Encourage the rapid development of E85 and hydrogen technologies.
D) Try to combine errands into a single trip.
E) Encourage higher gas taxes, which would encourage folks to save gas.

Islaam is a religion that brings peace but whose definition means submission and in religious terms it means submission to the One Creator worthy of worship. You are wrong however on your words that Islaam is not hate. For Islaam teaches us love and a balanced hate - called al walaa wal baraa.

But these words you attribute to `Eesa are incorrect because how is it that we can love our enemies? When our enemies are those who fight Allaah and his Rasul and the believers? How can we love a people who do not give Allaah azza wa jaal His Haqq? How can we love a people who rape our sisters in islaam? How can we hate a people who enjoy killing our children and taking their parents from them?! Allaahul Musta`aan - Allaah hates them - Allaahs wrath upon the ones who betrayed Islaam and those who fight Islaam - yet we come and say we need to love them? a3oothu billaah min thaalik

Only in a country as diverse and free as America is it possible for a person to understand and develop an appreciation of foreign culture while maintaining their own cultural heritage.

To wit: Are an appreciation for Arabic Calligraphy and Swine Husbandry in opposition?

498 Live4Truth  Mon, Feb 20, 2006 12:33:41pm

#494 Roger, science & technology? I presume you aren't refering to a gas tax. Are you referring to E-85? I know that hydrogen is a long way off (if at all) and I don't know how feasible it is. But E-85 sounds very feasible. They're already doing it. Seems the only obstacle to it becoming more mainstream, is cost per mile.

But I agree that being productive and efficient is probably America's #1 asset. But sending mountains of that productivity to the Middle East (via money paid for crude oil) is counter-productive to civilization's long-term health.

Interesting how the e-mails from Muslims are for the most part incoherent and full of unbridled hate and intolerance.

It might have been interesting, but it certainly wasn't surprising. It's what we've seen from these "peaceful" people for years now.

I wonder how long it is going to take our politicians to figure out how sick of these thin-skinned violent Islamiacs most of us are? I think that just about everyone besides the far left in America has had it with these cretins. (To the far left, these cretins are allies, so of course they aren't tired of it -- they just wish the Islamiacs would tone it down a bit for PR reasons.)

Five youths involved in alleged rape in Auckland

Five youths were allegedly involved in the rape of a 14-year-old girl in the toilets at Burger King Takapuna.

The girl was taken to hospital after the alleged incident, which happened about 6.30pm on Sunday.
