Thugs in Expensive Suits Begin Charm Offensive
The terrorists of Hamas, who know that if they keep pushing they’ll get further concessions from the spineless “international community,” are consulting with their image people and getting their Italian suits freshly laundered: Hamas ready for international Mideast peace push.
GAZA CITY (AFP) - Incoming Palestinian prime minister Ismail Haniya said his Hamas government was ready to talk to the international community to end the Middle East conflict but would not change its hardline stance on Israel.
It will be interesting to see how far they get with this inherently absurd position: “Sure, we still intend genocide, but let’s talk about peace!”
UPDATE at 3/27/06 8:28:42 am:
One of the point men in the Hamas charm offensive is Abdel Aziz Dweik, a Western-educated smooth talker and the subject of a fawning puff piece in Saturday’s Philly Inquirer.
Well, what a coincidence! Dweik also shows up in the Sydney Morning Herald today: Yes we did suicide attacks, but we are not terrorists. (Hat tip: mich-again.)
“OK, yes, it happened, we did suicide attacks but now there is a truce. We deplore any action where civilians are killed, yes, including Israeli civilians. We are a moderate Islamic movement. We are not terrorists. We are freedom seekers. Please, tell your readers, please help us secure this goal.”
