Borders No Longer Worried About Cartoon Jihad

LGF reader Paul G. emailed this note a little while ago, about the edition of Harper’s magazine with the Danish Mohammed cartoons. Apparently Borders Books is no longer worried about the safety and security of their customers and employees.

This morning (Thursday, May 18), I just picked up a copy of the June issue of Harper’s at the Borders store in downtown Tempe, Ariz., prominently displayed in its usual spot — Muhammad cartoons and all. So much for alleged concerns about “safety and security.” Guess they could afford to be high-handed with a small, obscure magazine like Free Inquiry, whereas Harper’s could have really pissed in their porridge, publicity-wise.

Indeed.

A drug is not bad. A drug is a chemical compound. The problem comes in when people who take drugs treat them as a license to behave like an asshole.
