2) Michael Brecker’s tour de force version of the standard The Meaning of the Blues from his album Now You See It…Now You Don’t.
3) The criminally under-recognized melodic metal band King’s X, with one of their best slabs of intensity mixed with soulful vocals, Dogman.
4) From the soundtrack of the brilliant Coen Brothers film O Brother, Where Art Thou?, Alison Kraus with a ghostly chorus singing the gospel classic Down To The River To Pray.
