Take a look at the HUGE number of hammer & sickles in some of the pictures from other places. And the tables put up by National Socialists and Communist Party International. And then remember that Putin was a card-carrying member of the KGB.

Islam & communism are both totalitarian philosophies. Not such strange bedfellows after all.

When the SA was marching and fighting in the streets, the SS was in the backround, training and waiting.

This is an excellent demonstration of who can rise up against us, we in the host countries, at a moment's notice.

There was an American revert (paint your own mental picture) who called into Michael Medved a couple days ago. When challenged on the issue of jihading against Americans he thought about it and said he would have to consult that book of theirs, find out what Surah applied, ask an Iman and if the answer was yes, ("is there sugar in syrup?" "Yes...") Then Yes!

The chutzpah of the Russians complaining about Israel's response, calling it "disproportionate".

The proper reply should be "So you think we are being easy on them? We will take into account your suggestion we treat Lebanon like you treated Chechnya."

Here is the backstory of the photo above:

The planes arrived in Moscow as opposition parties rallied at the Israeli Embassy to protest the escalating violence against Lebanese and Palestinian civilians. The rally, organized by the Communist Party, attracted 100 protesters and a strong police presence. A large Hezbollah flag was unfurled across the street from the embassy entrance as protesters chanted "Israeli genocide shall not pass" and "Bush is a rat."

"Beer is a soft drink in Russia"

Michael Brissenden finds that opening up the country to capitalism has resulted in more choice for Russians – and more drunks. Despite the political transformation, it’s still the hardest-drinking nation on earth. Alcoholism is the main reason the average life span for Russian men has dropped to just 58. It’s also the fastest growing beer market in the world, partly due to state encouragement, as the high taxes on beer are a lucrative form of income. Many Russians labour under the misapprehension that beer is a soft drink, and that’s the way it’s marketed. To compound the problem, vodka is cheaper than most soft drinks, because it’s barely taxed.

CAIR-NET: CAIR Calls Rushed U.S. Bomb Deliveries to Israel 'Unconscionable'

In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful

BREAKING NEWS

...Muslim group urges disengaging policy from 'dictates' of pro-Israel Lobby

(WASHINGTON, DC, 7/22/06) - The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) today called the Bush administration's decision to rush delivery of precision-guided bombs to Israel "unconscionable."

The New York Times reported today that Israel requested the expedited shipment of satellite and laser-guided bombs last week after beginning its massive bombing campaign against Lebanon's civilian infrastructure...

"It is unconscionable that our government would rush weapons to a state engaged in vicious and indiscriminate attacks on the civilians and civilian infrastructure of a friendly nation. Thousands of our nation's citizens also remain in Lebanon facing death or injury from these American taxpayer-supplied weapons.

"The baffling decision to assist in the destruction of a nation that has been held up as a model of democratic reform can only serve to harm our long-term interests in the region. Aiding attacks on civilian targets in Lebanon also calls into question our nation's commitment to fighting terrorism in all its forms.

"America must disengage its Middle East policy from the self-serving dictates of the pro-Israel lobby. Failure to do so will allow Israel to once again drag our nation into its self-perpetuating cycle of hatred and conflict (Is that a threat?-ed)."

Seeing this occurring in Moscow reminds me of a story I heard shortly after the Iranians took over the American embassy in Tehran in 1979. It could be urban legend, I'm not sure. But according to this story, a mob of Iranians gathered outside of the USSR embassy, days after seizing the US embassy. The USSR ambassador invited a representative in. After listening to the Islamic rant, the ambassador looked at his watch. It is now one o'clock, he announced, in forty five minutes Iran could be no more. That was the end of the protest.

It always seemed the strangest of coincidences that Iran released the hostages as Ronald Reagan was sworn into office.

I well remember that was one of the bigger conspiracy theories back in the 80's. Apparently there was a secret deal between the Reagan campaign and the Iranian government, which involved George H. W. Bush (not yet Bush 41) making a secret flight to Tehran in an SR-71...

Yeah, CNN always asks loaded questions in their polls, or non-sensical ones. I often don't want to even answer, but choosing the best is better than nothing at all.

So in this poll, if you vote, you assent to the assumption that the US controls Israel's military. It's very annoying.

Snap-On, because they make these, which are bicycle tools.

Imagine if John Kerry were president. Would he have handled this situation better than our current president? Or would he be demanding a face-to-face summit with Mr. Ahmadinejad and feeling emotionally hurt when his request for an audience is refused? Would his secretary of state be sitting for days in Damascus, waiting for an audience with Mr. Assad?

Would anti-Jewish hatred be anything other than emboldened if the Daily Kos and the American Conservative were known to be major power brokers that helped elect the president?

The politics of President Bush may not be perfect, but I remain convinced that John Kerry's election as president would have emboldened the Jew haters of the world even more than they are emboldened today.

#103 So?

I said last night on another thread that, while we should not go around destroying mosques willy-nilly, any mosque found to be stockpiling weapons should immediately be razed to the ground, and that should go for mosques in any country in the world.

Chris,
Is it Who or Whom?

For future reference:

"Who" is always used as a subject of a sentence.

"Whom" is used as the object of a preposition.

For WHOM the bell tolls.
WHO is responsible?
To WHOM did you send the package?

Same goes for "whoever" and "whomever".

Globular,
What the hell is a preposition?

Hey guys, remember, you gotta email Charles about these "cleanups." We have to be the Hall Monitors -- he can't read every thread.

If you ever see anything that needs deleting, don't just mention it in the thread itself: notify Charles either with the contact form at the left or at Charles at littlegreen... etc.

No, not like that, I guess I should I have placed a /sarc tag. The coincidence was that, in the context of my comment, the Russians threatened the Iranians with annihilation, and they backed down. While JC, the peanut farmer, tried eternal diplomacy. My perception, at least here in the U.S., was that Ronald Reagan was not about to take any crap from the Iranians. I have no doubt that he would... Well, guess we'll never know. I miss the man. I can't think of too may people I can say the same thing about.

Has the whole world gone freaking insane?

If you ever wondered how the heck the Western democracies could have just stood by and let Hitler and his Nazis take the Rhineland, the Sudetenland, Czechoslovakia, and even Poland, without doing much about it, now you can see why.

The enemy is on a roll, and the West is too peaceful, too apathetic, too guilt-ridden, too fearful, and too civilized to answer them in the only language they understand. Until our backs will be to the wall and we'll be facing imminent destruction.

We won't do what is necessary until Iran finally hands us an ultimatum: Replace your U.S. Constitution with the Islamic law of Sharia or we will nuke your cities.

If Kerry had won, he wouldn't have taken office till January 2005. With respect to Iran (and therefore Hezbollah), the die was cast years earlier, before Kerry even ran for the Presidency.

Other than withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq a bit quicker, nothing much would be very different. Kerry might have tried direct negotiation with Iran, but the Iranians are such fanatics that such negotiation would have failed anyway, and we would be in the exact same position we are now. Kerry likes to suck up to the Europeans, but the Europeans have run out of ideas on Iran as well.

Just one last thought, though. I not so sure that threatening the Iranians would have any effect today. They almost seem to want the world to come to the brink, or beyond, so their 12th Iman will pop back out of his hiding place and ... whatever tin-foil hat crap they think.
My dad (a Goldwater republican; i.e. "extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice"...) used to say that maybe we didn't have to actually use nukes against Japanese cities. We could have just told the emperor to look out at Tokyo Bay at 9:00 in the morning. That seeing the sheer force of a nuclear explosion would have ended the war. Our hydrogen bombs are now - how many 1000 times more powerful than then?
I wish there was an easy way out of these battles. But I'm sure there isn't. Are the Iranians so sure of the reappearance of their 12th Iman that they are willing to see their country turned to glass? Are they so sure that the only country ever to use nuclear weapons has not already passed the psychological hurdle which would make it easier to use them again? Rhetorical questions, of course.
What of Israel? All of about 15 miles wide. It wouldn't take much of a device to end their existence. Do the Iranians really understand what power would be unleashed upon them from the Israel navy? Do they care? Or, by their actions, do they seem to be so confident of their 12th Iman that they will sacrifice nearly their entire population? Or, are these seemingly insane North Korean and Iranian leaders using their insanity as a ploy?
I hope CAIR is snooping this site. They really need to understand the bottom line of not only the United States, but Israel, too. In the U.S. we have political discourse, and even vicious disagreement, but when the President of the United States is on television announcing that he has ordered the launch of 25 mirv'd ICBMs at Iran and in 20 minutes, Iran will be no more, we will understand his decision. And life will go on.

I will defend my country, undergo whatever hardship is necessary, to see the end of this ideological insanity.

"Russia calls for emergency Mideast meeting"

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "MOSCOW, July 22 (UPI) -- The Russian Foreign Ministry Saturday proposed an emergency meeting on the conflict in the Middle East with key countries and international organizations.

The ministry proposed that representatives of the United States, United Kingdom, France, Russia, Italy, Lebanon, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, United Nations, European Union and the World Bank, meet in Beirut or Rome to find a means of ending the escalating violence in the Mideast, Novosti reported."

No, I wasn't implying that you subscribed to that conspiracy theory. You just reminded me of it.

As for Iran, I wrote something a year or two ago on another blog to the effect that, given the Muslim penchant for "martyrdom operations", what would stop them from "martyring" an entire nation, if they thought it would help spread Islam?
