RetweetMPAC Angry with Schwarzenegger for Supporting Israel

Mon, Jul 24, 2006 at 3:43:04 pm PDT

Islamist PR group the Muslim Public Affairs Council is seething and whining over California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s appearance at the pro-Israel rally yesterday in Los Angeles: Schwarzenegger addresses pro-Israel rally, draws Muslim ire.

LOS ANGELES - California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on Sunday defended Israel’s right to self-defense at a pro-Israel rally, sparking criticism by a Muslim organization that he was taking sides in the Middle East conflict.

“We are all here to do one thing, and that is to support the state of Israel. Every nation has the right to defend itself against terrorist attacks,” Schwarzenegger told a crowd of 10,000 people gathered for the rally organized by the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles. ...

The Republican governor said he was praying that the Lebanese would regain peace. “They have been affected by these terrorists as well,” he said, in an apparent reference to the Iranian-backed Shiite militia Hezbollah in Lebanon. ...

Drawing cheers from the crowd, the Austrian-American former Hollywood muscle-man recalled his numerous trips to Israel. The Republican governor pointed out that Israel was the first country he visited after taking office in 2003.

His participation at the pro-Israel rally drew protests from the Muslim Public Affairs Council.

We take issue with the governor and the mayor taking sides on this issue, the pro-Israeli side, without consulting residents of California and Los Angeles,” said Salam al-Marayati of the council.

The mayor and the governor should not drag us into this foreign conflict,” he said.

So Arnold is threatening to invade Syria?

MPAC you are terminated

3 WrathofG-d  Mon, Jul 24, 2006 1:45:46pm

Something tells me he wouldn't be so upset about their "entrance into this conflict" had they been holding Hiz'b'allah flags at a Pro-Islamist rally.

4 pegcity  Mon, Jul 24, 2006 1:46:53pm

i love the idea of supporting the other side. Which would be who Hezbollah, ok so MPAC admits they support an illegal terrorist organisation, that clears it up.

Yes, MPAC, he did take sides, and clearly he didn't take yours ...

my primary advice, BIOYA ...

my secondary advice, go back to damascus, beruit, or points nearby, take up arms beside the party of baal, and frankly get what's coming to you for doing such an act ...

Some positive signs from Germany's Der Spiegel:

Why Israel's Reaction is Right

Israel is fighting a just war. Germany and the European Union should unequivocally back Israel.

Islamism has attacked Israel from both the south and the north and Israel has no choice but to react. But there is more to it than that. Israel's military operation is important for the entire Western world. Until 2005, Islamism was able to successfully mislead the West into thinking that the "occupation" of Gaza and southern Lebanon was the cause of the terror attacks carried out against Israel. Now we know better: Islamism isn't out to change Israeli policy in the region, Islamism is out to completely eradicate the country of Israel. The same strategy is being used on a larger scale: The Middle East conflict is not the cause of Tehran's conflict with Western secularism. It is merely a convenient alibi.

19 lawhawk  Mon, Jul 24, 2006 1:55:07pm

Taking sides in the issue? Are you kidding me? Anyone with a pulse should recognize good versus evil - and how terrorists are evil by hiding among civilians and firing rockets with the express intent of causing mass casualties among civilians. Arnold is backing Israel because it is on the right side of this conflict - and to back anything else is to support the terrorists who started this latest round of fighting (and yes, I know that Syria and Iran are ultimately to blame).

OT:
Did you know that 300,000 Israelis have been displaced by the fighting? The economy in Northern Israel is at a standstill.

These facts are afterthoughts in the media coverage, which much rather cover the situation in Lebanon, where Hizbullah continues to fight from behind civilian populations instead of fighting directly with Israeli forces - all in order to maximize civilian casualties.

Updates here.

44 Live4Truth  Mon, Jul 24, 2006 2:10:14pm

So, let's see here...

The governor says that every state has a right to defend itself, and Israel, being a state, therefore, also has that right.

MPAC thinks that's "taking sides".

Um, does he realize that the USA officially recognizes Israel as a State? And therefore, has a right to defend itself?

The country in which he lives has already taken a "side" on Israel's existence. If they don't like that, then they should leave -- move -- get out. Go live in a country that shares your values, beliefs, world-view (and live amongst other miserable creeps of like-mind).

OPEN LETTER TO ALL NON-JEWISH SUPPORTERS OF ISRAEL:

This is sort of OT but Arnold's speech yesterday (the subject of this) reminded me of another speech yesterday by a pastor from "The Church on the Way". To me it was probably the most touching, inspirational & heartwarming speech I heard yesterday! (I also got to speak to the pastor personally afterwards & we was a great guy) So bare with me.

As a Jew, a Zionist, & human being with relatives in Israel...I want to personally and wholeheartedly THANK every single supporter of Israel, but specifically those who are not Jewish. I don't want any of you to think that your help & support goes unnoticed or unappreciated. WE DEEPLY APPRECIATE IT!

Our history has been dark, & upsetting but our furture together will be a blessing to both of us. I look forward to our new unified furture together and success in are shared struggle against the evil in this world. Only together can we hope to finally create a world of Peace on this earth.

May G-d bless us all.

The is diplospeak for the not returning to the way things are.

Also in the Nasrallah clip in which he told people in advance of his intent to kidnap, he admitted he could not believe that Israel would respond the way they did. Proving, as if there were ever a need to do so that the tolitarian/fascist mind does not get how people's in democracies think.

lawhawk,

You certainly couldn't be more correct, but then you see quotes like this (from today's SF Chronicle article about the pro-Israel lobby on Saturday that I and my parents gladly attended):

>>

"The Hezbollah and Hamas attacks on Israel were on military forces, with very specific aims -- that is, prisoner exchanges," said Todd Chretien, a 37-year-old Oakland writer and activist running for U.S. Senate. "Instead, Israel has put into motion a pre-existing plan to reconquer Gaza, to destroy Hamas person by person, and to unleash the danger of a regionwide war in the Middle East."

>>

Whenever I read stuff like this quote, my blood just boils...what the heck is wrong with a person like Mr. Chretien? My only explanation is that he must be clinically insane...

I see he's running for Senate! There was a time that I would just dismiss a person like this, but nowadays I really worry for our future...

War Dead Flown to Iran

JERUSALEM — The bodies of Iranian Revolutionary Guard soldiers killed by the Israeli army in Lebanon have been transported to Syria and flown to Tehran, senior Lebanese political sources said.

Israeli and Egyptian security officials confirmed the news, which follows a report that first appeared in The New York Sun, that Iranian forces posted to southern Lebanon have been aiding Hezbollah terrorists in their attacks against Israel, including helping to fire rockets into Israeli population centers.

The Lebanese sources said between six and nine dead Iranian Revolutionary Guard soldiers were brought in trucks last week into Syria for a flight back to Iran.

Salam al-Marayati of your council made this remark in reference to Mr. Schwarzenegger's support of Israel.

"We take issue with the governor and the mayor taking sides on this issue, the pro-Israeli side, without consulting residents of California and Los Angeles."

Let me explain this to YOU. In this country we have freedom of speech. We don't have to consult YOU or the Koran or the Bible or the Torah or anyone if we want to state an opinion or belief.

I know this may be an impossible concept for you to grasp, since it doesn't compute with the rantings of your prophet or your Sharia law.

But guess what. It is not going to work here, never, ever and the more you folks make comments like above, the more you just expose your true nature.

People all over the world are "getting it." By it's own hand, Islam is exposing itself as a political ideology (and not a religion), which is willing to destroy and kill ANYONE who doesn't agree with it's mission.

So I just wanted to encourage your group, and groups like yours to keep up the good work, you'll hang yourselves with your own words.

As I posted another thread when this was brought up, "taking sides" is EXACTLY what we pay our politicians to do. Were we to hold a public referendum on each and every statement by every pol in this country we might as well dissolve the government and declare anarchy.

If they don't like what he said and what he stands for, they can work against him when he runs for re-election.

WrathofG_d - the people of Israel have many more supporters than you know. You have our moral support and our political support. If you need our monetary support, you will have that too. We stand with Israel. Today, in this battle, we are ALL Israeli.

What's insidious is the idea that private organizations act as if they have some kind of special standing, and thus government has an obligation to treat them differently than they treat anyone else. They took this page from the unelected "leaders of the African-American community", who showed how to aquire power without being elected by anyone except the LLL media.

This is, in addition to other things, anti-democratic at its core, because it bestows special status upon unelected NGOs. MPAC, you have no standing. Go away.

Douste-Blazy is visiting the region as diplomatic efforts to end Israel's war with the Lebanese guerrilla group intensify.

Mr. Minister, a few questions please. Why is it "Israel's war" when the terrorist invaded Israel and killed and kidnapped its soldiers first? Which Diplomats have been dispatched to Hezbollah? To Hamas? Should they reach an understanding for a ceasefire will you take them at their word? Why? How asinine is it to think you can negotiate with a terrorist organization? Does having to hide from these rockets give you any idea what the Israelis have been going through since the Gaza pullout? Do you realize that since the pullout at least one rocket attack has occurred every single day? Should Israel succeed in its efforts to rid southern Lebanon of these terrorist don’t you think that would be a great boon to the new Lebanese Democracy?

Thank you for linking to that informative article by the historian Kuntzel, that appeared in Der Spiegel.
One part that drew my attention was the quote by Ahmadinejad that shows the global extent of Iran's goals on behalf of radical Islam. It is surprising because Ahmadinejad frankly admits what many people have been saying: the war to eliminate Israel is just the opening salvo of a much larger war against the Dar al Harb.

This is what he means by a war against "arrogance". It is the infidel, who in refusing to convert to Islam or to become a dhimmi, is "arrogant" in the eyes of Ahmadinejad. And that is what he hopes to Evrectify with nuclear jihad.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad himself has pointed to Islam's larger conflict with the Western world. When, in October of 2005, he called for the elimination of Israel, he added: "We are in the middle of a historical war that has been going on for hundreds of years." This war, Ahmadinejad's war, has nothing to do with the most recent flare up of the Middle East conflict. "The current war taking place in Palestine," Ahmadinejad has said, is nothing more than "the frontline between the Islamic world and the world of arrogance. We have to recognize the baseness of our enemy so that our holy hatred expands continuously and strikes like a wave."

This "holy hatred" comes with no conditions attached. It doesn't depend on whether one is Jewish or not -- the single measuring stick is whether one blindly obeys the Sharia and dedicates one's life to the Koran. And this "hate" wouldn't disappear were Israel to cease to exist -- the Islamist creed calls for the "World of Arrogance" to also submit to the Sharia, meaning this genocidal wave of hate should ultimately spread across the globe. In order to expedite this goal, the Iranian leadership indicated that thousands of suicide bombers would be sent out to targets across the world. The men and women of the Israeli military are currently fighting on the front lines against this apocalyptic program -- should we not at least consider offering our solidarity?

"We are in the middle of a historical war that has been going on for hundreds of years" -- Ahmadinejad

Even if Israel were to disappear, that would not be the end of Ahmadinejad's hate nor would that be the end of Ahmadinejad's war. A "hsitorical war" with the "world of arrogance" that has been going on for hundreds of years implies much, much greater ambitions, much greater hate, and much more war against the world of the infidel until it converts and accepts Sharia or accepts dhimmitude.

Ahmadinejad has shown what he has in mind for his nuclear jihad.

"The Americans want a new Middle East devoid of jihad, resistance, liberation, martyrdom, retaliation and dignity. These are all terms that disturb the Americans.

The idea of expansive or irredentist jihad is incompatible with human life and human values in the 21st century. This is a malignant ideology that must be defeated. If somebody claims that this malignant ideology, involving expansive or irredentist jihad, is their religion, well, tough. It's still a malignant ideology, even if somebody claims that that is their religion. And it must be defeated if there is to be any hope of peace and freedom on this globe.

Martyrdom is their euphemism for the death cult iconization of suicide murderers, who carry out their grisly acts for expansive or irredentist jihad.

Dignity is what is meant by Ahmadinejad's reference to being in the middle of a war that has been going on for hundreds of years against the "world of arrogance" -- that is, against the infidel that refuses to convert to Islam or to accept second class humiliated status of dhimmitude. Dignity for the radical Islamist ideology, that pretends to be a religion, consists of conquering and humiliating the kafir. Anything less than that is humiliation for the radical Islamist.

Retaliation is eternal irredentism. It means for example conquering Israel, since it was once under Muslim conquest, and conquering Spain, since Spain also was once under Muslim conquest. And it means waging jihad based on perceived grievances going back centuries, against the rest of the world. It means never moving on.

Liberation refers to fresh conquests on behalf of Islam. This applies especially to lands in which the kafir is the majority, and Muslims are a minority. It is part of the eternal expansive jihad.

Resistance is the euphemism that they give for their terrorism.

The FACT that you hide behind children PROVES that not only are your enemies morally superior to you, since they do not wish to see children harmed, but that YOU KNOW your enemies are morally superior, or you wouldn't try to use innocent children as shields to protect you!"

Hmmm...I've been arguing for a long time that Marxism (and it's bastard, environmentalism) is a religion. Maybe that's not such a good idea strategically. While I believe it to be true, you make a very good case why a malignant ideology shouldn't be accorded that status. The islamists are trying to bring a malignant ideology inside of the Trojan horse of religion. Better people know it as less than that.

The best word for both islam and Marxism/environmentalism is cult. We need to have a clear understanding of the distinction between a religion and a cult, and then understand these ideologies as cults.

Name one convert to Islam or Muslim who has become more devout who has become a better American citizen.

I won't hold my breath.

My cabinet-maker! He spent some time in prison, learned a trade, converted to Islam and reintered society a force for good. He is very involved in his children's lives, he coaches pee-wee football and he is a very honorable man.

Sorry, no go. The challenge was to name one convert who is now a better American citizen. I'd bet $$ to donuts the cabinet-maker's first allegiance is to islam, not the U.S. In my estimation you'll have to try harder.

Actually, I don't *have* to do anything. I am willing to share the following with you. He flies the flag over his house. His wife is a Baptist. (If anyone tried to make her walk two steps behind, she'd pound him into the ground.)

His kids say the Pledge of Allegiance with all the other kids at school (my son went to Kindergarten with one of them). He coaches Pee-Wee football and his kids are in T-ball with my son. He is raising two incredibly well-mannered and articulate boys.

We (including our immediate and extended families) have known each other about two years as he has renovated my home--kitchens, bathrooms, library, den and living room. My first clue as to his religion were the prison tats on his hands.

We got to talking one day, and we've developed a nice relationship. I don't know if he prays five times a day facing Mecca, and it's none of my business. He goes to mosque when he can (the closest is two hours away).

When I asked him the other day what he thought about the war between Israel and Hizb'Allah, he said Lebanon had no idea the kind of ass-whippin' Israel was about to unleash and that Lebanon needs to take back control of its nation.

For him, the jihad is to rise above his past and his crimes, to be a better husband and father. He recently bought his first home, complete with an in-ground pool and lotsa' land.

To me, he is a model American. He is trying--and succeeding--to be a good father, husband and citizen. He's too busy getting ahead to get involved in hate.

We laughed..guy watching it beside me said, Bloody Abdullahs, Ha Ha ha...

So Arnold isnt allowed to take sides in a conflict unless its their side.

Arnold hasnt taken sides against Lebanon or Arabs anyway, hes taken sides against demented Islamic terror armies backed by demented war-mongering Iran which terrorise fellow Arabs and Lebanese far far more than they harm Israel.
Why do they get a bellyache about someone criticising militant extremist terrorists? Arent they often assuring us they dont share these views or sympathize with the likes of Hezbollah?

I just hope Israel shatters those bastards, and most of that so-called civilian population in that area is 100% supportive of Hezbollah anyway, so hold the left-wing tears for the poor 'civilians' being killed.
Hezbollah today rejected US proposals for a ceasefire anyway, so why didnt compassion for all these suffereing civilians kick in?
I hope Israel greases every single one of those Hezbollah fucks, and doesnt stop till it has,
and so does every decent peaceful Arab and Lebanese, even if theyre too afraid to say so out loud.

Muslims need to stop blaming their problems and woes on others and clean their act and condemn their own scum. Hezbollah needs to be condemned for the brutal, aggressive, cowardly org. that has no problem with mass murder and really doesn't care about the welfare of innocent civilians.

When Muslims condemn their own scum, then they will deserve to be taken seriously. Until then they deserve contempt and cynicism.

Muslim jokes:

1) A man walks into a sex toy shop and asks for a blow up doll. The vender says, "Christian or Muslim?" The man asks, "What is the difference?" "The Muslim doll blows herself up!"

2)At a Muslim school, a teacher tells the children that they will talk about something important. One of the kids asks, "What will we talk about?" The teacher responds, "What do you want to be when you BLOW UP!"
