I hate blowing my own horn, but people want to know this stuff, so here’s the skinny on the upcoming lizardoid media takeover, using the pretext of the Reuters Photoshop scandal as an excuse for world domination:

* Tomorrow morning sometime after 7 am, ABC’s Good Morning America will show a segment we taped today. They also interviewed Reuters editor Paul Holmes, who thanked me personally and the blogosphere in general for fact-checking Reuters. (I’m paraphrasing. He didn’t say “fact-checking.” No talk of flying pigs now.)

* Tomorrow morning at about 9:50 am Pacific, I’ll be on ZOA Radio in Philadelphia.

* I’m not sure on the time yet, but I’ll also be on The Laura Ingraham Show in the morning with Tammy Bruce sitting in. (UPDATE: It’s on for 7:15 am.)

* Today I spoke to both the New York Times and the Washington Post about the story.

* Eliana Johnson (no relation) in the New York Sun has a good factual piece on the scandal and Reuters’ response: Reuters Pulls 920 Pictures by Discredited Photographer.

* A great editorial in Investor’s Business Daily: Jihad Journalism? (With one small correction: the death threat from a Reuters employee happened in May and was unrelated to the Photoshop scandal.)

* And last but not least, yesterday I spoke with Randy Dotinga of the Christian Science Monitor. Apparently the brainwashing was successful, and his piece advancing the lizardoid agenda is now online: A blogger shines when news media get it wrong.

Hell, Charles, you've done great the past few days, so I'd go with the old Frank Sinatra song, and say COME BLOW YOUR HORN!

[Link: www.thepeaches.com...]

Make like a Mister Milquetoast and you'll get shut out,
Make like a Mister Meek and you'll get cut out,
Make like a little lamb, and wham, you're shorn,
I tell ya, chum, it's time to come blow your horn.

Make like a Mister Mumbles and you're a zero,
Make like a Mister Big; they dig a hero.
You've got to sound your "A" the day you're born,
I tell ya, chum, it's time to come blow your horn.

The taller the tree is the sweeter the peach,
I'll give you the whole maguilla in a one word speach: Reach!

Make like the world's your pudding, but light the brandy,
Even the mildest kiss is a dan, dan, dandy,
There'll be no love in bloom come doomsday morn,
I tell ya, chum, it's time to come blow your horn.

MUSICAL INTERLUDE

In civilized jungles females adore
The lions who come on swingin'; if you wanna score - roar!

You can be either read to or be the reader,
You can be either lead or be the leader.
Don't wait until you're told you're old and worn,
Take in some air and get your lips puckered,
Before you find you're simply too tuckered,
I'll tell ya, chum, it's time to come blow your horn.

Blow your horn,
I tell ya, chum, it's time to come blow your horn.

I feel myself swelling with pride as a long-term denizen of lizardoid hq (deep under the airport in Denver), and of our (OK, Charles') new-found power in the media.

We are the advance guard. As such, we can expect to be attacked with the greatest vigor. Huge conglomerates may try to buy out Charles by throwing obscene amounts of cash his way.

Others may try to destroy his reputation, or his legitimacy, or even try to...

We won't go there. Let's just bask in the moment. I'm extremely happy for our Mr. Johnson, because he has worked with tireless dedication for a lot of years to get to this point. And if you don't believe me, go back and look at the body of work contained in the archives of this blog, because it is all there.

He's left blood, sweat and tears here, and now finally in truly feels like home. Like I've said already, I got the very best birthday present possible, and it even came early.

Happy Days!

I read on another site that the request for absentee ballots for the primary was much higher than any past election. Might be enough if they go for Lieberman and he is able to close the gap a little more in the direct vote.

47 sss111  Tue, Aug 8, 2006 5:27:42pm

Another "story" that needs debunking is the tale by the Washington Post about how the Israelis are leaving Hezbollah missiles in place, so the Israelis can continue their war. eg [Link: newsbusters.org...]

Thomas Ricks, the WaPo author, claims to have heard this from "unnamed" military advisors who he also claimed he won't name because his conversations were "off the record."

The problem here is presenting speculation as fact. That the speculation is from unnamed sources is even worse, but a secondary problem.

We would laugh if this stuff were in the National Enquirer or other supermarket tabloid. We would expect it.

However, the Washington Post putting its full weight behind this story - pushing speculation of unknown parties to the world with a voice of 'authority' - is a real problem. Of course, by losing the ability to differentiate speculation from fact, the WaPo has become no different than any supermarket tabloid.

We need to call Ricks and the WaPo on their lies (personally, I think he simply fabricated the existence of 'advisors' or whatever he calls them, Lucy Ramirez-style).

I hope that when Charles is on the media he's making clear this is not about one picture. Its not about one photographer. its not about one war.

Its about a media that has completely sold itself out to the enemy. There is no longer any distinction between the New York Times and Hezbolla, San Francisco Chronicle and Hamas, or Mr. Keller and Achmedinijhad. The leftist media is just as much the enemy as the Islamonazis. Just as we war against the worshippers of allah, we need to war against the media.

I read on another site that the request for absentee ballots for the primary was much higher than any past election. Might be enough if they go for Lieberman and he is able to close the gap a little more in the direct vote.

The last I heard, Lamont was ahead by 4% points, with 70% precincts counted.

The absolute worse case scenerio for Lamont, is to only win by just a few % points, as there is no way now, if the lead holds for Lamont, that Lieberman will not run as an Independent, and the thing that the Lamont campaign hasn't even slightly considered, is that nearly 25% of Conn. voters, are Republican, and nearly 40% are Independents, which will nearly insure a certain victory for Lieberman as a Independent in November.

The Lamont campaign had hoped for a huge double digit win, and it appears that it will only be a few % points, if they win this primary at all.

Imo, this whole issue in Conn., is going to be a complete disaster for the Democratic party, as a whole.

It occurs to me that Israel may be preferentially targeting the longer range, higher payload missles and rockets simply because, as long as Israelis stay bunkered, the Katyushas will only severely damage property.

Only people that have been caught out in the open have been killed by Katys.

Furthermore, the larger missles will be easier to find, less mobile and more likely to be associated with higher value personnel such as Iranian rev guards.

Explains it without having to invent a conspiracy.

74 Tasty_Beverage  Tue, Aug 8, 2006 5:37:05pm

Charles, I read the IBD editorial earlier today and there are actually a couple of problems with it:

Here we return to Johnson of the Little Green Footballs blog. For his effort in pointing out the phoniness of the photograph, he got a warm message from a Reuters account that said: "I look forward to the day when you pigs get your throats cut." The so-far-unidentified person used "zionistpig" as his or her e-mail address.

Another anti-Semitic misstep and another Reuters statement. This time the news service confirmed that, yes, "an employee has been suspended pending further investigation." The person "was not an employee of Reuters' news division," for whatever that's worth.

This is inaccurate, as the throat-slitting incident occurred two months before the Hajj photoshop masterpiece and has nothing to do with it.

Johnson believes the threat might have come from Inayat Bunglawala, media secretary for the Muslim Council of Britain. He has declared that the British media are "Zionist controlled" and has written for the British Guardian Web site. If so, someone within Reuters conspired with Bunglawala to get the message to Johnson.

This paragraph appears non-sensical because it doesn't explain how someone who writes for the Grauniad would have a Reuters account.

I love IBD but this particular editorial was just sloppy.

Shameless repost from small thread (Charles just needs his props)

The Ballad of Chucky J (updated)

There once were a biker named Chuck
A seaworthy blogger with pluck
He gathered a crew
Minions like me and you
And set sail with a kiss fer good luck

Stormy waters he ventured to cruise
Armed with right and but nothing to lose
"Keep their feet to the fire!"
He'd preach to the choir
And keep a weather eye on all breaking news

There were times when the lubbers did moan
At the truth they were bein' a shown
With a fire in their eyes
They would claim he told lies
But the transgressions they knew were their own

After time the crew gathered in force
It be the result of right thinking - of course
(And a little night raid
on scurvy Rather he paid)
Which shined light on his reasoned discourse

And al-Reuters, too, has seen his panache
Its Photoshop lies now be known
So take note newsie lads
When ye' think to do bad
Ye' will reap everything that ye've sown

Now the blogosphere scans his horizon
For they know that he ain't compromisin'
Al-Jazeera and CAIR
Know they'd best be aware
He exposes their lies as they're risin'

So if its safe harbor ye seek
Just troll for a day or a week
Ye surely will find
A rummy fine mind
Just beware - his blog's not for the weak!

O.T. Olberman gets a letter from ADL:

Keith Olbermann
Countdown with Keith Olbermann
MSNBC
July 28, 2006

Dear Mr. Olbermann,

We are deeply dismayed by your ongoing use of the Nazi "Sieg Heil" salute, both on your program and in public appearances -- including the recent Television Critics Association press tour -- while holding up a mask of Fox News commentator Bill O'Reilly.

While we understand that your aim is to entertain your audience by taking pot shots at Mr. O'Reilly, your repeated use of the Nazi salute has resulted in many complaints from our constituents, including Holocaust survivors and their families who find the use of this gesture offensive and repugnant in any context.

The Nazi salute is more than just a remnant of history, but serves as a calling card for modern-day neo-Nazis and white supremacists. We believe that the use of gestures and imagery associated with the Nazis – even in jest – only serves to trivialize the Holocaust and denigrate the memory of the six million Jews and others who died as a result of Hitler's Final Solution.

As a respected and well-known media personality, your actions have consequences and can set a standard for others to emulate. We are especially concerned that young people viewing your program might take their cues from your free use of the "Sieg Heil" salute.

In light of these concerns, we hope that you will reconsider your use of the Nazi salute in the future.

Sincerely,

The Anti-Defamation League

A blogger shines when the news media gets it wrong.

The media didn't get it wrong, nor was it lousy editing. If a band of amateur bloggers could catch the fraud, why couldn't the technically sophisticated MSM?

I think that the MSM knew all along that many of the pictures coming out of Lebanon were photoshopped or staged.

Yeah, the left has been really good at maintaining control through demonizing the enemy and claiming that hidden forces are conspiring against them. It's a faith-based movement in that way... the shit they would have you believe strains credulity, so it's gotta be taken on faith.

This works well when the flows of information are controllable within a totalitarian society, but fails miserably when anyone above the poverty level can access the Internet on demand and publish anything at will. Distributed intelligence, marketplace of ideas, and the good ones tend to sell better. Not an attractive theory if you're a faith-based Marxist, but guess what - it works in finance and it works with other forms of information.

Reminds me of how Cuba is preparing itself for a US military invasion which will never come. They should fear instead the avalanche of consumer goods coming their way once Castro kicks it and the embargo is lifted.

Ciro Trueba drives his Russian Moskvich along downtown's 23rd Avenue, in the zone of El Vedado. "I graduated as an architect 27 years ago. My salary is 340 pesos a month. I am forced to work two or three hours a day as a cabdriver. A pair of shoes costs 250 and an avocado 10."

I'm pretty sure a torrent of inexpensive but sturdy and attractive goods will take the fight out of them. Pick up a Wal-Mart Supercenter and dump the contents in the island's poorest communities, rinse and repeat.

How good is free dental care if you can't afford toothpaste?

And last but not least - congrats to Charles! The LGF thesis is finding support in all sorts of unexpected quarters. Bwwwaahaha!

It will be slow but the old media is changing.

If Joe runs as a Independent, all hell is going to break loose in the Democratic party!

I can't see Joe backing out now, under any circumstances!

If the GOP knows they can't even come close to producing a winner in Conn. Lieberman may have an additional 25% of normally GOP voters to lean on in November.

Can you imagine the looks that Joe will be giving his supposed comrades in the Congress tommorow, who supported Lamont, or whenever they meet again!

There may be an all out war in the Democratic party.

They already are splintered, and fragmented all over the place.

Maybe the Lamont victory, will actually turn out to be a nightmare for the Dems, when all is said and done.

One can only hope, and pray!

His wife, Hoda, was being treated in an adjacent room for severe lung injuries and several fractures. Their 9-year-old son, Hussein, was in intensive care with head trauma and brain contusion.

The Rmeitys three other children — Mohammed, 22, Fatima, 19, and 16-year-old Malak — were killed. So were Ali Rmeity’s parents, his three brothers and two sisters. His brother’s family, who lived in the same building, also died.

Joe is not as popular as people seem to think he is. If he goes Independent the Dems will poor their money into Lamont's campaign.. Soros money..

It was obvious to me that the DNC cut their ties with Lieberman this election, I think they wanted him out..

But Amalie, they just spent a TON of money, and if Joe runs as an Independent, they haven't won anything yet, and they'll have to spend $$ millions more, to try and defeat him again in November, with maybe, many of the 25% of GOP voting for Lieberman.

Remember, Soros spent $25 million in 2004 to defeat Bush, and he lost his $$, plus Bush was re-elected.

I still think the Dems are in for a fight within, that they have never even considered, nor can they even comprehend.

They will not win in November, without clear unity, and there is no unity in the Dem party of any kind right now.

It will be interesting, nonetheless.

Several thoughts to offer, and then it's off to bed for me.

First, I still can't figure out how you can have dust marks to clean up on a digital image, like Reuters claims. I had thought that was only possible with film processing, which I don't believe the news photographers use anymore.

Second, a hearty and well deserved congrats to Charles for his hard work. This is the second clear attempt in recent years by the MSM to affect world events with lies and deceit, and you helped stop them both. Look at the difference one person can make. Bury them with the quality of your work, Charles.

Third, I am very happy with the health of LGF. There have been times in the past that I feared this site was getting sidetracked in flame wars, personalities and just pure nonsense from some, but we seem to have worked through most of that and are now moving forward again. The stakes are too high to waste time and effort on childish stuff. Remember, it is a priviledge to blog here.

Fourth, we need to be careful to not overreach and see deceit and fakery in every picture the MSM runs. There must be some that are legit somewhere.

Fifth, we will probably attract a whole bunch of new readers and lurkers for a while here. Lets strive to keep up a high standard of class, clear thinking and quality in our communications with each other.

Have you seen the Yalla Ya Nasrallah video? You can see it here at Powerline:

Now if you go search for it at YouTube, the first video in the result is the one you want. The second one is a Hezbollah propaganda film designed to come up when you search for the real Yalla Ya Nasrallah film. The fake film is full of graphic images. Mohammed (the best one I know) at Iraq the Model, and his family, are now in real danger. The Mahdi Army - protected by its cadre of friendly journalists when we should have killed Al Sadr in Najaf - is now systematically pushing people out of their neighborhoods, or killing them. A Shia grocer in his neighborhood was just murdered, but who knows why? Could be preemtive retaliation, vendetta, nobody knows. Tensions are high.

Some people think a Shia state is an improvement, but not people who think about it very much. America lost the opportunity, such as it was, for a real Iraq when Al Sadr left Najaf alive.

Zeyad of Healing Iraq, and many other Iraqis are in neighboring states like Jordan. Mohammed sounds like he wants to stay and fight. If American troops won't engage the Mahdi Army... Not good.

It will be interesting.. I am not sure the Joe is that popular... we will have to wait and see..

Assuming you are right and Joe Lieberman is not that popular (And honestly I don't think you're seeing this one correctly)he's going to become popular.

The Democrats are going to try every trick in the book to beat him, and they'll even make up a few new ones. The crap will fly, Joe will be smeared, insulted, and chopped apart mercilessly.

And the average guy on the street will say "What the hell? Wasn't Lieberman their Vice Presidental Candidate six years ago? What in the world did he do to get the entire party turned against him?" And they will see that all he did was try to work with the other party and not declare them evil personified.

Trust me, this is Paul Wellstone Memorial Service part II, and the Democratic Party is walking into the church.

I truly think O'Reilly has good intentions.

But he's submarined by his intelligence. His dogmatic insistence that the big bad energy companies are controlling the price of oil is so off the chart that it scarcely deserves comment.

And then he comes on tonight and tries to put the evil paintbrush on an artist based solely on visual cues that have made him think that the artists were haters of freedom.

O'Reilly, pay attention. You are NOT the be-all end-all of media celebs. PLEASE, get over yourself.

If you do, you may even find a higher plane.

Here's another one:

HAIFA, Israel — Viewers of Hezbollah TV are getting some unexpected interruptions — courtesy of their enemy.

In the middle of newscasts and programming from Hezbollah's Al-Manar station, Israeli technicians are hacking the signal and replacing it with a 90-second spot that begins with a gun site superimposed on a crude drawing of Hezbollah's leader, Sheik Hassan Nasrallah, looking at the ground.

The image is punctuated by the sound of three gunshots and framed on the top with the words, "Your day is coming, coming, coming." On the bottom of the image of Sheik Nasrallah are the words: "The state of Israel." For the next 90 seconds, the message is clear: Give up. Resistance is futile.

Yalla Ya Nas’rallah

You look like a hippopatumus
You might as well stay in your hole
Because soon you will die

You are simply a complete fool
You are a devil or to make a long story short
You are the scum of mankind
Even if you drop here more katuskas
Know that there’s no despair here at all

Together we will overcome the evil trouble
Yalla ya Nasrallah – we will screw you inshallah
We will send you back to allah,
With all the Hezbollah
Yalla ya Nasrallah – go away ya garbage
It’s already been sentenced from above –
That this is your end

You are pathetic, you are small
And resemble an orangutan
You have lice on your beard
And soon you’ll be out of here
You are a dead cockroach, you are skunk
You’re running out of breath

The IDF is asking just after you
To burn you up in fire
With your friends from Syria and Iran
Even if you’ll drop here more katushas
Know there’s no despair around here at all

Yalla ya Nas’rallah
We will screw you inshallah
We will send you back to allah,
With all the Hezbollah
Yalla ya Nas’rallah – go away ya garbage
And be prepared because soon all the IDF
With the apaches, the F-16’s, the battleships,
The missles and the tanks, the commando,
Paratroops, Golani, Giy’ati
And enjoy them because they are your last ones

Yalla ya Nas’rallah
We will screw you inshallah
We will send you back to allah,
With all the Hezbollah
Yalla ya Nas’rallah – go away ya garbage
Yalla ya Nas’rallah – we will screw you inshallah

We fell for the Golden Dome Ruse. America missed a golden opportunity to show the Sunnis we'd come down hard on Shia militias.

Al Sadr ran the press corps in Najaf. Nobody got a press pass without his signature. Al Sadr ran religious "courts" for a few weeks which tortured, executed, and torture-executed hundreds of people. All we got were stories concerned a holy dome on a holy mosque in the holy city might get nicked by a machine gun bullet. All the photos showed "brave resistance fighters" of the Mahdi Army posing with RPG's, MG's, or rifles. I was not amused.

I said we should flatten it and deal with the consequences, angry Shia, for a while. Instead we decided to put it off and let the situation fester into a soon-to-be Iranian rump state or fragmented nothing. I'm not sure what Iraq could have been, but letting the Iranian proxy walk out of Najaf alive was a turning point in my view.

UK's top Muslim policeman warns of Islamophobia

The United Kingdom's highest-ranking Muslim police officer has warned that Islamophobia is creating a generation of angry young people vulnerable to extremism. Assistant Commissioner Tarique Ghaffur told a national Black Police Association Conference that anti-terrorist laws were discriminating against Muslims and eroding the trust of the Asian community in British policing. He's calling for an independent judicial enquiry into the radicalisation of young British Muslims in the wake of the London bombings last year.
His remarks come as no surprise to Halid Sofi, the chair of the legal affairs committee of the Muslim Council of Britain, who spoke to RNW's Louise Dunne. He sees a disturbing self-fulfilling tendency on the part of the police and the media to regard British Muslims as a potential source of trouble.
"We have been saying it for quite some time now: that the anti-terror measures are being disproportionately targeted against the Muslim community. So, we broadly agree with what Mr Ghaffur has been saying, and in fact we've been saying it for quite some time. It's the disproportionality, especially in stop and search. The figures show a 300 percent increase in stop and search of Asian people.
Muslim officer warns about new laws
LONDON, Aug. 8 (UPI) -- A senior Muslim police officer in Britain has warned about what he calls Islamophobia, which he says has created a generation of angry young Muslims.
Speaking at a conference of the National Black Police Association in Manchester, Tarique Ghaffur, assistant commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, said country's tighter anti-terror laws indirectly discriminate against Muslims, the Independent reports.
The senior Asian officer claimed misuse of stop-and-search tactics and other tough anti-terrorist measures could lead to the criminalizing of minority communities in the country.
He warned young Muslims who are angered by the new laws could become vulnerable to extremists, the report said.
Ghaffur called for an independent judicial inquiry into the radicalization of young Muslims following the London bombings last year, the report said.

Now the rest of the world will know, that there are mostly two medias: one dishonest, dissembling, manipulative, above reproach, in support of or in allegiance to propaganda and in open pursuit of its own, separate political agenda over truth and getting the facts correct, versus an honest one, dedicated to truth and bound by its honor, in getting the facts and reporting the events surrounding them in a way that reveals their true context, and does so without concession to political will or the use of artiface, nor yields to prevailing popular opinion, and that has the necessary courage to stand against the inexorable tide of human cowardice, one that would sooner surrender civilization and a way of life for generations to come than stand down a threat and not be divided.

Charles and the rest will continue the battle against, the elitist left, the vile anti-American left, the surrender'ists and their propagandists (the msm) and with reckless abandon. With their coyly worded anti-Semitism, AND 'we can talk with these people and win their hearts and minds'. It cannot be done, the only way to win their hearts and minds, is to take them from their bodies.

There are many fronts in this battle, one was witnessed tonight with the defeat of Joseph Lieberman in the Democratic primary, in Connecticut.

Make no mistake, the defeat Lieberman was a victory FOR the surrender'ists wanting nations such as Israel, the U.S., Australia, the Brits and the rest of SANE, that truly value life and liberty, to fail in the greatest threat before us, Islamism.

I have never before sent money to a Democrat and with Joe Lieberman's statement tonight, I still won't. Joe is now an Independent. I will send money to assist Joe Lieberman in his fight. He has asked that people across this nation, help in his effort to return to the U.S. Senate, financially and other ways. His 'loyal' friends, the Kerry's, the Soros crowd, the Cindy's, have turned their backs.

This nation and the others mentioned, cannot afford to lose this battle with the enemy from within. This nation cannot afford to let Israel, nor Iraq, nor Afghanistan, lose this battle due to OUR enemy within. And it certainly cannot afford to lose this battle, with those that place absolutely no value on life, or liberty, chanting to a pagan figure, bent on killing or servitude, in wanting world domination.

We here are and have been in the throes of a NEW "Civil War". Whether it remains "Civil" here, has not yet been determined, but WE just cannot lose this war.
