One of my friends flew out of Heathrow yesterday, before this plot came out. She said the security there was ATROCIOUS--the security people were standing around talking about shifts, and the person who was supposed to be looking through the x-ray was talking to his buddy guards and wasn't paying any attention at all. Hopefully security will be much, much, much tighter there and everywhere now...

Americans Will Die for Liberty

"But when the Americans speak of freedom, we should not imagine, in our cynical and worldly-wise way, that they are merely using that word as a cloak for realpolitik. They are not above realpolitik, but they also mean what they say.
These formidable people think freedom is so valuable that it is worth dying for."

This is just another Rovian plot to get Bush re-elected in 2008! Okay, I done.
Isn't it funny how once CAIR or other "community leaders" are alerted to an arrest, the first thing said is, "Don't start stereotyping muslims, etc, etc." In other words, DON'T START LOOKING TOO DEEPLY OR CAST YOUR NET TOO WIDELY, CUZ YOU MAY CATCH ALL OF US.... The veiled threats of muslim backlash and strained relations from them are nice too.
Bring on the searches and long lines at the airport. I don't mind, cuz it's keeping me safe. If anyone argues, they must have something to hide. Grrrrrrr

OK, here's the important question.
How many of us used today's events to highlight the evil of Islam to friends and strangers?
I just talked with my former Roman Catholic Nun mother and explained how Islam wants her and I dead.
At the gas station today, I commented to the cashier about the plots how it originated from a religion of no fun. The guy behind me smiled and nodded.
I brought the topic up to the lady where I bought my sub (I'm a regular) and she also gets it. One of her Indian co-workers (Hindu - not the evil muslim type) would make similar negative comments. I have a female Hindu co-worker who I discuss events with. She knows what's going on. She hates her government for not standing up to the terrorists. In our last conversation, she seemed frustrated that her religion was so peaceful that it wouldn't stand up to attacks.
And tonight, my brother, one of the nicest easygoing guys on the planet made a comment that we just need to be rid of these people.
Is anyone else feeling this surge? Despite all the liberal teachings, there seems to be a rising tide of hatred towards Islam. I feel hopeful.
Canadian Infidel

Yes, people are slowly waking up, people are mumbling amongst themselves and beginning to articulate what is wrong, in stores, in the workplace, down the pub.
Despite the enormous efforts of state propaganda, the stark reality of islam is creeping into people's lives.
The government's response will of course be yet more pro-islamic propaganda, more draconian laws banning this and that, more censorship of print and speech, and more erosion of liberties. Britain, along with other Euro countries will have to become a semi police state just to keep a lid on the muslim presence and any possible reaction to it.

Security is getting higher at shopping centers.
This evening at least one loading dock door at the Cambridgeside Galleria (MA) was closed, and I've never seen it closed before, and a guard was giving cursory inspections of cars entering the garage.
The mall also has offices of Rep. Michael Capuano, Dhimmicrat (and terror supporter - voted against cutoff of "humanitarian" aid to Hamas) so they might be more careful. But since it is across the street from where I work, I also want it to be safe.

I have noticed it coming out in a few strange places too. One of friend's daddy is a raving moonbat out demonstrating in Israel against the IDF brutality. She actually said to me that she was beginning to wonder why he is doing that.
The wheat is quickly being separated from the chaff. War has commenced, and people will choose sides accordingly.

I salute your great nation Americans, and I vow that I will be called an American myself in near future and have my chest swollen with pride. You are the greatest country ever.
That just brought a tear to my eyes. Sounds like you are already an American !

Opposite the Cambridgeside Galeria? I suspect you may work for the same company I do (I was in that building for years). Maybe we're both right of center soapbox lurkers... And you're right, no one ever paid any attention to those entrances that I noticed.
I can't imagine any of my leftist coworkers and friends changing their attitudes even after something as horrific as this. But I guess I could always be surprised...

WSJ has details on one of the suspects, who worked at Heathrow!
Intelligence officials identified 30 Ravenswood Rd. in Walthamstow as the address of one suspect. Neighbor Alma Willox said she saw her longtime neighbor, Asim Tariq, whom she says lives at that address, put in the back of a police car in handcuffs early yesterday morning. Afterward, police searched the two-story home.Next-door neighbor Jenny Smith described Mr. Tariq as in his mid-20s. He had traveled for the first time to Pakistan last year to marry his bride and bring her back to the U.K., neighbors said. The couple had a two-week-old baby.
Ms. Smith said Mr. Tariq worked at Heathrow airport.

Sadly this ploy was inevitable. But foiled in this attempt, and as airline passengers are eventually reduced to flying in their bathing suits (arguably not a bad thing for flights originating in Stockholm or South Beach), the next step will be to implant the explosives directly into their bodies.
Yes packing their stomachs and colons will do nicely for the vermin who at the accorded time will then swallow or fudge pack wires connected to sparking devices.
Finally they can evolve to surgical implants filled with explosives. Replacement hips, breasts, perhaps even injecting materials into their adipose tissue (think reverse liposuction). Better still they can infect themselves with various diseases cultured in Africa. Anything as long as the host can live long enough to board a plane.
Perhaps then we'll start racial profiling and passenger questioning.

Your Opion please:
Last week you opined that "Sudden Jihad Syndrome" would break out sporadically, that another 9/11 (or 8/15 ten airliners) would happen and people still wouldn't wake up to actually DO anything, but when they smuggle in "THE Bomb" that would do it, and then it's "Cowboys and Jihadi's" backlash across the board.
I think it could/would take a different bend.
The only young daughter of a U.K. Midlands couple is visiting us this month, She's sweet cute funny and likely to marry our son. She flies in & out of Heathrow to SFO or LAX as in exactly last week. I beleive her when she says her Dad & brothers won't wait for the law if anything happens to their family.
I'm beginning to feel the same way.
I think somewhere after the grief and the burials, There's going to be a backlash by family of the murdered, and if the IRA can get in weapons, other U.K. citizens will too.
This Guy is at the top of about a couple million people's list in U.K. for recieving some Justice.
Some spots are going to look like 1980's Beruit before the "Big Backlash" happens.
Your opinion.

I don't think we work at the same place; I work at a fairly small company. At least one other person reads Drudge, but I haven't seen LGF on any other screens. We don't talk politics much, but I knew a very strong Republican at a previous job, where we could see the seating for Kerry's concession speech, and watch the Secret Service and the TV trucks. (I wonder if he's a lizardoid)
Since where I work is a small company, I don't want to give out too much info, as it could identify me.
But I do have to say the Haddad Travel Agency makes me a bit nervous. Do they sell Jihad tours?

ABC News is reporting Western intelligence agencies had identified three of the alleged ringleaders. Two are thought to have recently traveled to Pakistan and later had money wired to them from that country, purportedly to buy plane tickets for would-be bombers.
Heavens!
I hope we (NSA) didn't violate the privacy rights of these poor dears by tracking their funds transfers thru the SWIFT program!
Thank God they were picked up in Pakistan and out of the ACLU's reach.

I wasn't going to say that because it might give them ideas, but they probably have thought of it by now anyway.
It gives "Pain in the ass" a new twist.
And if they really do it, well, that will be the reason no one can argue against to ship all the islamics home to their sand heavens.
Body cavity searches for everyone at every airport?

The Sun (UK) has more details on some of thos arrested, icluding some converts:
ONE suspect arrested yesterday was a British Christian who converted to Islam when his new religion “just clicked”.
Don Stewart-Whyte, 21, changed his name to Abdul Waheed and grew a bushy beard, said his neighbours.Last night it was believed he was the son of Doug Stewart-Whyte, a Tory party agent who died nine years ago.
Stewart-Whyte, who recently married, was one of at least four people held in High Wycombe, Bucks, as cops foiled a mass plot to down transatlantic jets.
Others held in the town included a close pal of his and a young lad who had just returned from Pakistan.
One of those arrested in High Wycombe was named last night as convert Umar Islam, 28 — who had been formerly known as Brian Young.

More from the Sun:
TERROR suspect Waheed Zaman met controversial MP George Galloway many times, his sister said last night.Safeena, 24, said of her 23-year-old brother: “He saw it as his duty to stand up for his community and that’s what led him to know George Galloway. He has a lot of respect for him and has met him many times.”
A spokesman for MP Galloway, left, said: “Waheed Zaman is not a name that George is familiar with. He is not known to him on a personal level.”
There is no suggestion Galloway is an associate of Zaman.

Don't LET Up
The transatlantic air plot and the problem of British Islam.
by Stephen Schwartz
BRITISH AUTHORITIES have been slow to acknowledge openly the Pakistani-Muslim background of the suspects arrested in the mass terror conspiracy that brought chaos to British and American airports Thursday. At first, official sources in the United Kingdom would confirm only that they were working with "the South Asian community" on the case; then it was disclosed that the Pakistani government was involved in the investigation. This reticence in naming the focus of so significant a terrorism inquiry is a symptom of the larger problems of Islam in Britain, and of "Euro-Islam" more generally. Put plainly, Pakistani Sunnis in Britain--more than a million strong--are the most radical Muslims in Europe. British Islam is dominated by Pakistan-born clerics. It is saturated with extremist preaching, media, and charity efforts which support the recruitment of terrorists.
News from Pakistan itself indicates the main trail from there to Heathrow. British and Pakistani sources linked the plan to the Pakistani government's house arrest of Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, founder of the armed paramilitary movement Lashkar-e-Taiba (LET, or Army of the Righteous). LET, which is designated a terrorist organization by the State Department, is an ally of al Qaeda and is present wherever Pakistani Sunnis congregate and violence is hatched.
In America, LET was behind the Northern Virginia jihad network, whose members were jailed beginning in 2003 and sentenced to varying federal prison terms for terrorism-related acts. LET was also accused in the Bombay train bombings in India last month. It has significant resources in Pakistan, Britain, and elsewhere.
Yet notwithstanding the courage
of Tony Blair, the British government appears paralyzed in dealing with this radical influence over British-Asian Muslims. Instead of confronting Pakistani-born extremist imams on British territory, the Brits organized a roadshow in their Muslim communities under the rubric of "the radical middle way"--an extraordinarily inept promotional conceit--in which young Muslims are called to renounce extremism. ...

Your opinion.
I think there is good chance that we are going to see heavy artillery used in direct fire in some of the cities it Europe (London included) before this thing is done.
/The gulf that divides the various peoples of the world can usually be bridged by small arms fire. In this case, it is probably inadequate.

they are never satisfied. Is it enough that the West allows them to kill Jews in Israel all they want and as soon as these Jews try to fight back we impose "cease fire", that only Jews must follow? Could it be that they are not only after Jooos?
