The Kos GOP Photograph
Revisiting our post from last night, rising Democratic moonbat Markos Moulitsas Zuniga claimed to have found evidence that the GOP added a “Hitler mustache” to a picture of Howard Dean on their web site: Daily Kos: Republican Party puts Hitler mustache on Dean.
Here’s the image Kos posted, with the “Hitler mustache:”

And here’s the original image from GOP.com:

Hmm. No Hitler mustache in evidence. But notice that the Kos image has been scaled down. Maybe it’s an artifact introduced by the scaling? Let’s resize the original ourselves:

Still no mustache. What kind of cheap stunt is Kos trying to pull?
UPDATE at 8/11/06 8:19:02 am:
I’ve been told that the original photo posted at GOP.com did have the shadow, and that they replaced it with a cleaner image, although there is no statement about it at their site.
I didn’t see it for myself but several people I trust have emailed about this, so I retract the accusation that Markos was dishonest.
In this one case, anyway.
UPDATE at 8/11/06 8:28:18 am:
The probable source of the image with the shadow is here. When this image is scaled down to the same size as in the GOP’s collage, the Kos “Hitler mustache” appears.

So Markos’ accusation that the GOP deliberately added the “mustache” is also mistaken. Will he retract?
