A Fidel Fauxtograph?

A lot of people have emailed to ask if I think this photograph of Fidel Castro has been altered.

Answer: if so, it was done skillfully. I don’t see any obvious signs. I also loaded it into Photoshop and tried a few tricks that often reveal modifications, and nothing turned up.
