The Wahhabist front group known as the Islamic Society of North America is holding its annual meeting in Chicago, and they kicked it off with a vintage whine about “Islamophobia,” by featured speaker Abdul Malik Mujahid. (Hat tip: Allahpundit.)

CHICAGO (Reuters) - American Muslims still face high levels of hatred and suspicion nearly five years after the September 11 attacks and political leaders and the news media are mostly to blame, Muslim leaders said on Friday.

“During the last five years the Muslim community has been scrutinized by almost all branches of the government and the media to the extent that more than half a million Muslims have been directly touched by this process,” said Abdul Malik Mujahid, chairman of the Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago.

“They continue to face dehumanization and a great trend of Islamophobia,” he added, speaking to reporters at the start of the annual meeting of the Islamic Society of North America, the largest yearly gathering of U.S. and Canadian Muslims.

“The trends of Islamophobia unfortunately are worsening,” he added, blaming “television driven by media makers” and political leaders for the situation.

Abdul Malik Mujahid is the President of the well-known web site for Islamic youth called Sound Vision.

Well-known to Little Green Footballs anyway. Mainstream media are cluelessly presenting his victimization complaints, without ever mentioning that the web site he runs is one of the prime reasons why US citizens should not trust a word coming from this man or his deceptive organization.

SoundVision has considerably cleaned up their act recently—after receiving some publicity from LGF and others—but in the days and months immediately following the 9/11 attacks the site was a hotbed of jihad talk and glorification of terrorism.

Here are three quick examples from the LGF archives:

August 11, 2002: Sound Vision kids post a poem titled “Yes, I Am A Terrorist,” and say Israel was responsible for the 9/11 attacks.

August 13, 2002: Sound Vision kids discuss and defend their posting of a repulsive and evil video showing a Russian soldier being decapitated by Islamists in Chechnya.

August 20, 2003: Sound Vision kids virtually dance with glee over a mass murder attack against Israeli children in Jerusalem.
