9/11 Whitewash Watch: “We’re the Most Oppressed People in the World”

Mainstream media continues running interference for the agenda of radical Islam, in yet another piece citing CAIR’s bogus hate crime accusations: ‘They think if you’re a Muslim, you’re a terrorist’. (Hat tip: carefulnow.)

“We’re the most oppressed people in the world today,” said Sarfraz Sattar, a database analyst who works in Newbury Park. “We’re forced to defend ourselves all the time. I feel like I don’t have a voice in my own country.”

Officials at the Council for American-Islamic Relations say hate crimes, vandalism and other aggression has increased over the past five years, but Muslims in Ventura County say they rarely experience prejudice face to face. They worry more about being stereotyped.

If you stand up today and protest against Israel for instance and the atrocities that are being committed in Israel and Lebanon, you are just labeled as a terrorist,” said Ahmed Patel, imam of the Islamic Center of Conejo Valley. “People are afraid to go out and practice what is their fundamental right.”

Other Muslims say Sept. 11 has made them more outspoken and aware of their responsibility to help outsiders understand their faith.

“I’m more proud that I’m Muslim,” said Mamdouh Elalami of Simi Valley, sitting outside the Newbury Park mosque after Friday prayers. “You should only be afraid of one thing: God.”

Presenters at an open house at the Newbury Park mosque explained the fasts and sacrifice of Ramadan, the holiday that begins later this month. They explained that women sit behind men at the mosque so as to not divert attention from prayers, and they said martyrdom covers only people who perish in acts of self-defense.
