Here are our monthly unique visitors for the last three months as counted by my homebrew statistics package, showing a huge jump in August (a million more than July) because of the Reuters photoshop scandal. Interestingly, a lot of the first-time visitors from that period (the beginning of August) seem to have stuck around, because our traffic has remained at a higher level since.

June 2006: 1,105,727
July 2006: 1,245,495
August 2006: 2,266,830

UPDATE at 9/24/06 6:06:48 pm:

Sitemeter, which counts monthly unique visits in a different way, predicts that at our current level of traffic, we’ll have 4,349,675 unique visitors in the next month.
