Former pop star Cat Stevens, now known as Yusuf Islam, who donated money to Hamas, supported the Islamic death sentence against Salman Rushdie, and was barred from entering the United States because of his connections to extremists, will be performing at this year’s Nobel Peace Prize concert.

Islam’s new album, on Atlantic/WEA, is now listed at Amazon. And in an obviously calculated public relations move to downplay his radical Islamic history, his name has been changed again—to just “Yusuf.”

You know—like “Sting.”

The person who stands up and says, "This is stupid," either is asked to 'behave' or, worse, is greeted with a cheerful "Yes, we know! Isn't it terrific!"
