NYT Whitewashes CAIR’s Candidate, Slams Blogosphere

Again the New York Times comes to the defense of radical Islamic candidate Keith Ellison, in a slobbery puff piece that does not even mention his links to CAIR, and blithely brushes past his history with the Nation of Islam as if it didn’t matter.

For all those friendly Nutroots bloggers who accused me of “racism” and “bigotry” for saying that Ellison’s win would be celebrated in the Middle East, please note this racist, bigoted New York Times headline: Muslim’s Election Is Celebrated Here and in Mideast.

And what NYT piece would be complete without a smear against those who tried to blow the whistle on Ellison’s deceptions, while mainstream media did their best to cover it all up?

Arab news reports highlighted the fact that Mr. Ellison would probably take the oath of office on the Koran, something which also upset Muslim-bashers in the blogosphere. Some suggested it meant he would pledge allegiance to Islamic law rather than to upholding the Constitution.

Allahpundit also weighed in on this one: NYT puff piece on Ellison slams “Muslim-bashers in the blogosphere”.

UPDATE at 11/11/06 2:59:40 pm:

Democratic campaign signs and banners are normally blue, of course, and sometimes contain other colors from the American flag.

Ellison’s signs were all green—the color of Islam.

Coincidence? Sure, you can believe that if you want.

UPDATE at 11/11/06 3:46:37 pm:

Readers point out that Paul Wellstone also used green campaign signs, so Ellison does have a good excuse ready.

UPDATE at 11/11/06 5:03:24 pm:

Here’s more information on Ellison’s past and present connections to the Nation of Islam and various radical Islamic front groups: Keith Ellison, The Wahhabist Choice For Congress.
