Kerry Not Shunned, Wingnuts Utterly Humiliated

Greg Sargent at the “progressive” Talking Points Cafe admits he has spent way too much time on a relatively insignificant story, but it paid off. He’s proved the “wingnuts” were wrong about that picture of John Kerry eating breakfast by himself: New Proof That The Wingnut ‘Lonely Kerry’ Story Is Bogus.
He’s demanding that everyone who wrote about the photo apologize to Kerry, and to the world for simply existing.
Consider this a correction, and a note that it now appears the original report was inaccurate; if Sargent is correct, Kerry was talking to some reporters and deliberately sought out an empty spot. We’ll just agree to forget about the numerous weird theories thrown out by the left-wing blogs on the way to this proof.
As for an apology, there are no words to describe my abject humiliation and remorse, for having the unbridled temerity and hubristic irresponsibility to link to someone else’s amusing report that turned out not to be true. I weep with shame. Please forgive me, Greg and Flipper.
Maybe I should just claim the photo was “telling a larger truth”—you know, fake but accurate?
