Screaming “Allahu akbar,” hundreds of Palestinians rioted at the site of the Temple Mount this morning: Clashes at Jewish-Muslim holy site in Jerusalem.

Right after Friday prayers. You don’t suppose their “spiritual leaders” had anything to do with it, do you?

JERUSALEM (AFP) - Israeli riot police armed with stun grenades have stormed Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa mosque compound and clashed with Palestinian stone throwers at the most contested religious site in the Holy Land.

Fifteen Israeli policemen and at least 20 Palestinians were wounded in protests against nearby Israeli repair work, which Arab leaders charge endangers the mosque, as smoke and explosions flared after Muslim prayers.

UPDATE at 2/9/07 8:04:25 am:

This day of prayer has officially been dubbed a day of rage.
